It's a little disconcerting sitting outside, with the sex shop right next door, but the coffee is superb and tuna rolls are delicious. I struggled to find it at first but if you locate Tsum then look down past the diner kebab shop that is behind Tsum, you'll make it out. Sadly shut when I sent back in Dec. 2012

Sadly, this nice coffee bar has closed -- there was a for sale sign on the door when I last thought to have a coffee there

If you're hoping to find an American-style coffee shop blended with former Soviet customer service, you're in luck. The coffee is undeniably good, but you'll get the stink eye if you try to actually sit at one of the tables inside, all of which bear "reserved" signs yet are always empty. Personally, I grow tired very quickly of places which... More

Provides a welcome break after shopping on Arbat. Located down a shady walk way, 4A Coffee has both indoor and outdoor seating. Excellent coffee and tasty snacks. Very friendly service, English menu available.

Love this cafe! In winter you can snuggle inside with wonderful coffee and amazing carrot cake. In summer you can sit outside under the trees and watch the world go by. Just round the corner from busy shopping area, so perfect to pop into

One of the best things about this place is its seclusion from one of the busiest "fashion" streets of the city. Some 20 meters to the left, and you are safe from all the haste. Coffee is always superb (so they say, for I am a tea person); and the combination of wooden tables, smell of freshly brewed coffee, cinnamon... More

This cafe is currently on the edge of a construction site but is still worth visiting. Friendly American owner offers some English reading materials to pass the time. Pleasant little outdoor area with 2 or 3 tables and interesting, atmospheric interior. Coffee was good (Americano) but at the upper end of the Almaty price scale. Prices generally seemed to be...
