An excellent place to chill out and have something to eat and drink after walking all day in Colonia. The staff is very polite and the food is awesome. The best thing is the view, and the nice patio where you can chill out while enjoying the river

Nice place to get an expresso. I found it when I was walking around in the afternoon. Located close to the yacht club. Once in front you are attracted to come in. Very good service.

This is a lovely little place to have tea or coffee. My husband and I enjoyed both while perusing the books they had and enjoying the view. They also gave us yummy little biscuits to enjoy with our drinks. There is a pretty outdoor garden behind the shop, but we did not use it due to poor weather that day.

This place is definately a must if you want excellent home made snack food and drink at a reasonable price. The owner is friendly and welcoming and speaks good English. I had the best lemonade and carrot cake I've had in a long time. We sat in the garden and gathered our thoughts after a long day, although sitting inside... More

This lovely spot has a garden and a lovely bar inside. Prices are fair and the food is delicious. We sat in the calm garden and later in the swanky, jazz-inspired sitting room by the fireplace. The owner works the kitchen and the sandwiches - i had salmon- were so fresh and tasty. Clean bathroom, good orange juice. Open 2... More

A cute place to escape and enjoy a drink and a pastry. Cute cat as well. Will definitely come back. Decent prices.

Briefly. The food is good - we had a crudo ham and blue cheese sandwich, and a (canned) tuna sandwich... both tasted good and came with some small nibbles (cheese, cherry tomatoes, peanuts). The service is slow...but consistent with the rest of South America, and friendly. Good English spoken here. The decor is nice (early 20th century), good backyard overlooking... More

This cafe is hands down one of my favorite places in Uruguay. It has a homey feel, comfy chairs and a great view of the river. Not to mention the food is divine. (Everything from sandwiches to sweets, you can't go wrong.) And if you really do take to heart the cafe's motto (un lugar sin apuro...), you'll discover great... More

Having booked a ferry ticket to Colonia from Buenos Aires, I was excited for a day adventure in Uruguay. After a day exploring an estancia in San Jose and around the historic district in Colonia, my mom and I were ready to sit back and relax somewhere with excellent food and a good view of the much talked about sunset... Its my second time in Colonia and my second afternoon in Lentas Maravillas. As always, service was impecable, as was their brownie with dulce de leche. Spend some time in Lentas Maravillas admiring the bucolic view... Its worth it!
