Ok, so i've only tried the grilled shrimp but it is so tasty and can never get myself to try anything else! My husband got the rotisserie chicken and it was yummy as was the fried whole fish.

The grilled shrimp is absolutely addicting. We do recommend you try Camarones al Pio Pio. It does not have the lemon sauce but its homemade stew brings another flavor to our shrimp. Hope to see you guys soon!

mr. pio pio might be good for albany (i don't know as it's the only place i've eaten there), but its food can't compete with similarly priced venues in big cities. though the chicken was tender, the ribs and churrasco were definitely NOT slow cooked. the aji hot sauce is quite good. the salad is iceberg with ONE slice of...

This was our second visit to Mr. Pio Pio. We had stopped in Albany to eat on our way to upstate NY. We picked this place from Trip Advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. The seating is limited and the whole set up very ordinary. What comes out of the kitchen compensates for it all. We asked the waiter...

Visited Mr. Pio Pio in Albany with my family of six. The Trip Advisor reviews influenced our decision for dining and the reviews were accurate. The place is small with only a few tables. However, on the Tuesday we visited there was plenty of space for our family. The kids were ambivalent about trying food from South America before we...

I read a positive review in local paper about Mr. Pio Pio restaurant and decided to check myself.
It turned out that the place was clean and comforting. Air conditioner in summer time, when I visited the restaurant, was a big advantage. I ordered a beef stew. To my enjoinment the meet was very soft and not stif and not...

I tried this place since I reade all the positive reviews, the food was ok not nothing out of this world. The ceviche was dissapoining since it was more like a cilantro water soup with a couple of shrimps. The rice and beans were ok, not the best lack a little flavor. Everything else was good.
Definitely the most authentic South American food in Albany. The bandeja is nearly identical to those I've sampled throughout the Antioquia region of the Colombian Andes. The shrimp is also quite good. The only disappointment was the lomo saltado, the sauce just didn't have nearly the flavor I'm used to from having this dish in Peru or at Peruvian restaurants...

Our family frequently travels a route which puts Albany at the halfway point of our journey. We usually stop at a chain restaurant, but this time, we used the TripAdvisor iPhone app to pick something off-the-beaten-path.
Mr. Pio Pio came up as a recommended restaurant, and we wholeheartedly add our thumbs-up to the reviews. This is a small place, with...

Based on the high reviews on Trip Advisor my husband I went to Mr. Pio Pio. The previous comments were correct - it's a small place with only 8-9 tables, does a booming take out business, is not in a great neighborhood. But, THE FOOD IS FABULOUS. Wow - I loved everything and wish this place was down the street...

This was a great stopover a few minutes off the highway on a trip between the Adirondacks and Connecticut. The food was fantastic- everything was delicious! My family was not familiar with Latin American food at all, but we were made to feel very comfortable here. There's not much to this restaurant other than a couple of tables and some...
