Overwhelming taste, always have their branches in prime location, big space. Layar is one of many many many restaurants which offers seafood as their speciality but Layar serves the best seafood, and I am not a big fan of seafood but I love it. Taking dinner with about 10 colleagues. Order for crab, prawn, snapper fish and eel. Nothing special about the material quality and the food taste. Crab, prawn and eel are fresh, but the snapper fish was not fresh. I know some better place for seafood in Surabaya...way much better than this place in term of food taste

In a nation where seafood is quite prevalent, Layar successfully sets itself apart while still serving most of the ordinary menus. Everything about it is done right; the taste, the seasoning, the price, the drinks it serves, everything. Never have I fallen in love so much with 'Bumbu Telur Asin' before I made a visit to the place.

You can always count on the cooks at Layer for great seafood lunch/dinner. They consistently serve best crabs in town. My absolute fave is their crabs in salted egg sauce, which at times reminded me of kaastengel :D there are vast selections of other sea animals to choose from, so if crabs are not your thing, there's nothing to worry... great food taste, the price is not too expensive is just about right, my family said if in surabaya not eat in here, still not in surabaya... marvelous,, keep it up.. the most recomended is KEPITING TELUR ASIN, but watch out if you have collesterol ^^

I think by far, this is the best and most consistent seafood serving restaurant in Surabaya. The price is reasonable, the portion is very satisfying. They are famous for their crabs. We had the black pepper and the salted eggs one. The soft-shelled crab is also very good. Fish menus are worth trying too.
