My boyfriend and I were only in Udaipur for 3 nights and had dinner at the Rainbow Restaurant twice! We found it by luck on our 2nd night there and ended up having dinner with a friend and chatting four hours, having juices and ice cream and sitting on one of the little cushioned balconies overlooking the water. The view... More

This restaurant was just next to the Raj Niwas hotel we stayed in. The food is good and fresh. The waiter, Vikram, was always very welcoming. The service gets a bit slow when there are more customers. The view form this place is great, as it is adjacent to the Pichola lake. The rates were reasonable, though not cheap. I... More

we have been here twice and both time got hold of one of the two niches at the edge of the balcony. if you get those, you might stay the whole day. the view is awesome and the niches are sooo comfy! The food was alright but nothing special, the coffee was very good though and try one of the... More

Soups very average. Had a tomato soup (watery) & a pumpkin soup (mostly hot garlic water with a tad bit of pumpkin in it). The Chinese we ordered was not on track too - but palatable. Service was ok. Prices a tad higher than those of the other restaurants around that are serving much better fare. 1/1/2013 dinner.

Firstly, our waiter was simply amazing! He went out of his way to be so fast, reliable and was happy to accommodate anything we asked. The best service in India. The view is also fabulous over the lake and palace. And the food was lovely for the cheap price. Issues were their drink menu items were largely unavailable. And the... More

Let alone food, even the tea is bad. Need I say more? Prices hiked only because this is the part of the city where tourists are seen flocking around. The view is good, as is for almost all the restaurants facing the lake at Lal Ghat.

After eating at a few other places in Udaipur that disappointed us in their generic dishes, this one was a bit better. I wouldn't say it has *good* Indian food, but it is better than the other budget places to eat. I liked that it was not pretentious. It had a good view of the water, and a relaxing atmosphere.... We ate here for most of our meals the three days that we were in Udaipur. Food is fresh and less oily than the other Indian food we've had. The Rainbow Restaurant also has continental and Chinese options. Ordered garlic naan here and after almost three weeks in India I can say it's the best we've had so far! Made... More

Amazing view and the owner is incredibly nice and friendly. And even explains how the food is prepared if you ask. the prices are very reasonable compared to the hotels around it and you can have a small love seat for two people on the lake! it's the best place to have a bite watching the sun set! oh and...
