This place is a little hidden away - to find it you need to walk in the middle of the chaotic traffic, then into an alcove off the street, but that is fine because when you get inside it's very quiet, away from all the chaos outside. It's a cool environment too, so on a hot day that's nice. The... More

It's recommended by the lonely planet and it's easy to understand why. The place in AMAZING, so peaceful and quiet in the really energetic city of Udaipur. The price is really affordable and the food is great. I'm living in India for the last year and a half and they have the best cheese naan I had in India. Take... More

Visited here whilst in Udaipur. I opted for the Dhungar Maas as it sounded interesting. It was lamb in a smoke flavoured sauce. I think they cooked the lamb dish first then smoked the whole dish. Anyway the lamb was tender, the sauce rich but with a definite smoky flavour which I enjoyed. The bread was a little cool, the... More

Had read reviews about this place so decided to check it out.Was travelling with someone visiting Udaipur for the first time. From a noisy narrow street we walked into this calm green garden surrounded by a choice of seating. Lounge beds with canvas sun covers , a formal dining area and a cafe like feel on one side.We tried the Indian... More

We ate there twice! A peaceful spot. They serve great espresso! Not bargain prices, but overall one of our favorite spots.

You are walking down the busy streets of City Palace road and as soon as you enter Whistling teal you find yourself in a completely different settings. The restaurant is made in the courtyard of restored haveli, and is amazingly quiet thanks to the wall and structure that surrounds it. Its perfect laidback place that you want before/after a busy... We had a cup of coffee here and it was gr8. Misses out on a chance to eat food but heard from many that it is delicious. Ambiance, seating is good. Overall the experience was very good. It is a very good place to just relax and have good food.

We ate here on recommendation one evening and found the food to be quite delicious and very good value. It was quite easy to find. Just make sure that you do end up in The Whistling Teal and not in The Raj Palace Hotel, which is next to where it is situated.

The place is very peaceful and beautiful, and the service is wonderful. Food is excellent. My girlfriend ate here for our 6 month anniversary, and it was the perfect place.
