I went to MTR self-service counter on a weekday. Note that the service is in the adjacent building, although both are from MTR group. The food was decent and nothing special to talk about. Nice option for lunch when one goes to passport office in Lalbagh road.
If you offer great food at a very attractive price, people will put up with anything - that is the motto here. They serve some really tasty local Karnataka fare at a ridiculously low price. Service, the waiting and the overall ambience etc. literally need to be ignored for the food here. Just get there really early (12:30 is when...

We sauntered in to try what the food at this famed chain is like at the newly opened outlet in Indiranagar with my parents.
We were actually looking for a dosa, idli, vada sort of meal but were informed that only meals were served on weekends.
We decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad we did as the...

Food is good but don't go for the ambience or if you are looking for a luxury experience. You will have wait a long time if its a weekend or actually anytime of day or week. But its rich in tradition - invented rawa idli and the old photos of pre-independence days add to the charm and history of the...

We were there over the weekend for breakfast by 9 in the morning. We did not wait much for our turn. I was surprised considering that MTR would always be a sought-after place to eat back in the days.
We ordered Rava idly. The waiter said "its not ready yet". We then ordered for Upma. The waiter said "Its not...

We went as a family for their 'thaali' on a Sunday afternoon, the place can be crowded barring that if you wish to experience authentic Kannada meals - this is 'the place'. The restaurant incidentally is owned by a going PE firm :) Very reasonably priced - worth the experience.
