Great food & coffee Friendly staff Great tunes! Great takeout lunches Who could ask for more This place has a buzz in the warmer months,
We went there in the afternoon when it was quiet. The weather was nice enough to eat outside and the food we ordered was good with generous portions and modestly priced. A nice friendly atmosphere. This is obviously a regular meeting place for ex-pats - and for very good reasons.
It's hard to find. But we enjoyed the afternoon there. Food was good. We had hummus and pizza both very good. Nice and casual. Many foreigners. I will go back for sure.
Real coffee is widely available in china, but if you fancy a good one (not the water served by 85 degrees or the crap from Starbucks) it turns out mostly to be quite expensive. Especially in the more touristy places. We bumped into the Bookworm and were triggered by its relaxed atmosphere and its surprisingly fair priced coffee! If you...

The Bookworm Cafe in Beijing is obviously an expat haven - there was an Australian Literary Festival going on while we were there! The Bookworm operates largely as a library for locas, with some new books and travel guides on the side. The food is nice, but having a glass of wine and reading from random books was a treat...

This place was good a few years ago but now with all the choices available - no body wants to go there - except for the poor English teachers. The place is expensive and with so many books available online not much point.
This bookstore rocks. There is a wide selection of used books at prices that are difficult to find anywhere else in Suzhou. It is also a cozy place with a nice offering of foods and drinks, and a fun weekly calendar of events.
been to bookworm in summer and liked it a lot.
nice staff, great coffee and cake available. prices are fair.

If you are an expat or looking for a place just to chill for a few hours and grab a drink, The Bookworm is where you come to in down town Suzhou.
It does have a nice atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and welcoming but you wait an absolute life time for the food to be served (don't...

The Bookworm is a welcoming place for ex-pats living in Suzhou. The food is fair, the beer flows well and the staff all speak fairly good English. Thursday nights are quiz nights, so be prepared to stay a while and have fun. There are much better restaurants in Suzhou, but none matches the "Western" nature of the Bookworm.
