Very authentic konoba with great food. Prices were good, food was better than expected, and service was very helpful and nice. i would recommend this place for everyday lunch.
We were on a Mediterranean Cruise with 3 other couples and chose this restaurant as it was recommended by Rick Steves. One couple had walked into the restaurant earlier in the day and agreed that we would return around 2:00. We spent most of our time exploring the area around Diocletian's Palace and this tavern is just a few blocks... More

My husband and myself were wondering thru this incredible city looking for a fresh fish lunch and ended up at this quaint small local restaurant. I will never discribe accurately the wonderful experience we had. First of all,the food was wonderful and reasonably priced. But...... the people were friendly and the owners were wonderful. We experienced the true people and... More
My husband and I ate here at the end of October. The woman whom we rented a sobe/room from recommended this place (I used Trip Advisor for nearly all of our room bookings but didn't even think to use it for restaurants). It was awesome from the moment we walked in the door and down the steps. It only had... More
We ate at Konoba matejuska on our first night of an eight-day sailing trip in Croatia. It was a magical dining experience--the most wonderful homemade prosciutto, wine and parskey for a starter. Excellent fish. The white risotto is not to be missed. Friendly service and a great way to start our trip.
This is a very friendly restaurant with home cooked fresh fish. The waiter basically said don't worry about the menu, this is the fish platter for 2 people and it's todays catch. The meal came with a carafe of white wine and a very fresh garden salad. The fish was really good. This restaurant is well worth a visit.
A little off the beaten track, my boyfriend and I dined here based on the trip advisor reviews. Situated in a narrow alleyway, this cosy restaurant has a great selection of fresh fish / seafood. The waiter was a little hassled to begin with, but soon warmed up and was friendly and happy to recommend dishes. We had the first... More
We chose the restaurant as it was number one on trip advisor. Yet we were the only people there. My partner later spotted that the reviews were very similar and had been posted at the same time fom locations seemingly around the world. .The waiter at first denied the existence of a menu which he later brought. When we got... More
Our dinner at Konoba Matejuska was the best dinner of the two week vacation I recently took with my family of four. The restaurant is quite small with only a few indoor tables but it was a pleasant, intimate atmosphere. The waiter brought over a platter of the fresh fish caught that day and suggested a sampler of several types... More
