Consistently good food and friendly service. Also great for takeout. All of the dishes are distinct in taste and appearance. The breads are well done. Our favorites are the lentil soup, lamb curry, palak paneer, vegetable biryani, and chicken vindaloo. The samosas and onion pakora appetizers are also a treat. We have brought our Indian friends here, and it has... More

The drinks and service are decent. The food is decent quality, but not really authentic from my experience (lived in India and married to an Indian). Their quality used to be better, but recently it's been going down hill. The biggest problem appears to be shortcuts they've started taking in the kitchen to decrease prep time and costs.

Service was so-so, and the food was not as good as I remember from a few years ago. The atmosphere is dark and almost dismal, with a tv blaring in the bar area. Would probably not return.

The monsoon is not bad, it's actually pretty decent, it's also pretty inexpensive. If you're looking for a decent/cheap meal and you happen to be in Acton, I would check this place out.

Most of the Indians in Acton are from South of India, which means they cook extremely spicy foods, lots and lots of oils and lots of red chilles, with simple and inexpensive ingredients such as potatoes, lentils and rice, pressure cooked for speed and convenience. Monsoon specializes in North Indian cuisine, influenced by the Moghul dynasty; lots of ingredients, meats/fish/chicken,... More

I have been in here on occasion for dinner and this past week tried their lunch buffet. It was quiet when I first walked in but had n problem getting seated and attended to. The menu and buffet options are pretty standard but they are fresh and tasty. In many restaurants the buffet is tired looking and bland tasting but... More

Our arrival at Monsoon Acton was not even acknowledged for 20 minutes then told we should pair up with three total strangers (??) and share a table. We waited at the bar for at least 20 minutes and were never asked if we wanted to order a drink. Finally got seated and waiter took forever to take our drink and... More

My wife and I frequently order take out as well as dine in at Monsoon and have been very happy over the years with the quality and authenticity of the meals. We originally frequented the Monsoon in Maynard, about 10 minutes south of Acton, but when the brother/cousin opened this place, we made the change. If you like Indian food,... More

The food in this restaurant is over-priced and very, very average. The ambiance is just okay and the service sucks. We ordered the chicken soup, the kali mirch ka tikka, lamb do piazza, nan, and salt lassi. Other than the soup, everything else was either over or undercooked and under-seasoned. The lamb was tough, the chicken was bland, and the... More

Very tasty entrees and a good selection of appetizers. Nothing special about the food or decor but is good and there is little else in the area if you like Indian. It is a little pricey, IMHO.
