The salad bar was boring and not worth the price. Our main dish was stake, very small serving and not good at all. The location is very nice though, believe it or not, it is the only restaurant across from the Buceo Marina.

Have been many times in the past with no problems and a great overall experience, however after last nights experience I will never go again. It has gone seriously down hill. The service was abhorrent. I was discriminated against because I am foreign, my Uruguayan friends agree, and was even over looked when my friends were being served. If you...

This is one of the more expensive restaurants I've visited in Montevideo. Haing said that, the food quality is on the top 3 ranking in Montevideo. No discussion.
If you go during lunch or on a "full moon" night, the view of the "Puerto del Buceo" adds a great value.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant, if I know that...

If you have ever been to Texas the Brazil or El Porcao in South Florida, this is the same concept. They have an all you can eat serving, meat, chicken, sausages and continuously keep serving it throughout the dinner. As an alternative you can also choose from a menu a la carte. The food was good but not necessarily memorable,...

I had the merluza negra and can't seem to forget the awesomeness of the texture and the flavor. It was indeed one of the best seafood dishes I have ever had. Would definitely recommend the place.
I was brought here by a Uruguayan friend and he was right: very good meat (huge portions), good selection of wines, nice views, nice staff. The place, although nothing special has a nice atmosphere, subdued lights, not noisette. I see it a good choice for a business dinner and also if you are in a romantic mood. Good, rather expensive,...

we live in the USA, but have family in Montevideo. As they had often hosted during previous visits, we hosted 14 adults here March '09. They suggested the place and we were not disappointed. As we are getting ready to return next March, I reviewed my last trip and found the bill. Just over US$400 for 14 people!!!!!
several bottles...

La Casa Violeta was a landmark in Montevideo...best parrilla (after the old port that is!) and a wonderful view of the Rambla and the river.
Today, the quality of the meat is not as great as it used to be and the service is poor but, the staff is very nice.
They usually offer a type of parrilla which involves...

WONDERFUL WONDERFUL selection of meats and wine....throw in a nice view of the ocean and you have a "must eat at" place !
I went here with a colleague from work. He was visiting Uruguay for the first time and had been told to try the parillas here. The pressure was on! I didn't want to disappoint. Found this place on Trip Advisor and it was right around the corner. We couldn't have been happier.
The server was excellent and went out of...
