During lunch in same building, we decided to purchase chocolates for dessert and gifts. The woman running the shop was rude, assuming we were there to use the restroom and nasty about it. The man also contributed to the unwelcome attitude. As two well travelled...women, a 37 yr old doctor and 50 yr old business professional, we were offended and left to purchase chocolate elsewhere. In our travels around Ecuador we never encountered anyone rude outside of this shop. Tip, if you eat in any of the eateries that share a restroom with this shop, you had better not try to enter the restroom through their store. They bark at everyone that does.More

Our guide chose this shop for a look at Ecuadorian chocolate production and we couldn't have been happier with his choice. We had a personal tour for the two of us and a wonderful tasting of the different types of chocolate. Needless to say we...purchased many of the products to take home with us as they are small and not set up for international shipping so make sure you buy what you want when you are there. Adjacent to the shop is a lovely small cafe with inner courtyard seating--perfect for lunch or a cafe and dessert.More

We were so happy we visited this shop on the charming La Ronda! The quick explanation of their chocolate making processes was actually highly-interesting, and the chocolates are stunningly good! Needless to say, we spent more than we planned, bit the prices were great and...the quality second to none!More

My review of this place comes from a different experience. First and foremost, the chocolate is great and just beautiful creations. Cristina is a beautiful person and went over and above to help us through a difficult situation. While we were in her shop, we...discovered that my husband's wallet was missing and had been stolen in an incident that happened 10 minutes prior down the street. Cristina kindly stepped in and helped us by using her phone to call our credit card company and the police. She spent several hours helping us with our situation and being an ally. Our Spanish is limited and she kind of just took over and helped us immensely. I don't know what we would have done without her. Not only is this an exceptional chocolate shop, but the people running it are stellar human beings! Thank you again Cristina!More

Get the inside story on artesanal chocolate making . What makes it unique ...taste all the flavors and 60, 70, 89. and 90 % chocolate. Also try 100% cocoa butter. as a topical moisturizer. Raise your hand when asked who wants a cocoa butter massage....View the live presentation with slide show. Allow time afterward to shop. We visited this shop on a Saturday afternoon. Great shop, nice space, delicious chocolate. It seemed odd to me that there was only one employee (very kind young man) working on a Saturday afternoon in the old town location. The shelves seemed rather bare as...well - the only flavors available for purchase were plain dark, chili, and ginger. The 80% dark ginger flavored bar is incredible! We came to this store with the intent to purchase gifts to bring home. We made a few purchases, but left a little disappointed that more options were not available.More

After a long day of sightseeing, it was a pleasure to sample the three chocolates above. Cristina’s recommendations were spot on and I could have eaten my way through the whole display case. I originally was going to take them home in a container, but...I ate them at the comfortable table inside. “This is the best to-go container,” Cristina said, as she patted her belly. Tip; if you sample the chili chocolate and don’t have water to douse your flaming tongue, just eat some 100% chocolate to put out the fire. The stickers in front of the store are also very cool.More

I visited the one near La Compania Church not the one in La Ronda (which is the only one that comes up on Trip Advisor). Same company, same chocolate. It's genuine Ecuadorian chocolate and is delicious. I recommend the passion fruit chocolate.

As a teacher, I loved the history lesson on chocolate in Ecuador and demonstration on how their chocolate is processed. As a person, I loved the chocolate 🍫 experience. Never have I ever tasted such artfully crafted masterpieces. Experiencing the different levels of chocolate, all...the way up to the 100%, was worth the whole plane flight. Definitely worth going. I'm so glad that my friend recommended me to this store. We were treated to a presentation about chocolate making process and got to sample their chocolates. The employee was super nice, very knowledgeable about chocolate and his passion for chocolate was...obvious and contagious. I got a few chocolates and a hot chocolate... the best dark chocolate shot I've ever had (super strong tasty stuff)! I'd go back to Quito just to have their hot chocolate again!!!More
