This is a three story restaurant that is settled into a home converted into a place to eat. We hiked up the stairs three floors and sat at a small table that was perfect for dining. The food was absolutely delicious. Blackened Salmon with sides was excellent. The restaurant is owned by an expat from Louisiana and cajun is on... More

A simple hole in the wall restaurant with no pretensions. Food was served in a timely manner, nicely presented and the steak was particularly good. Visited early afternoon and had the place to ourselves. Quite difficult to find, but only 5 minute walk from Plaza Grande - it appeared to be closed when we arrived, but a security grill over... Thank you for the response. There are so many good restaurants in Quito and we do not probably have the absolute best food in town. But....out our cafe...if you are looking a romantic place with intimate conversation....we are it! But if not....you WILL have lots of fun! More

I had a wonderful time coming here during my stay in Quito. The owner, his young son who works there, and the other lady working, were all friendly and a lot of fun, and we sat and chatted with them for a while. There are few choices at all if you're not eating meat, but it was delicious, and the... More

Thank you for the nice coment and it was great to have you with us. Unfortunately...we are not a vegetarian restaurant and only have really two dishes that we consider vegetarian but if you eat fish or cheese...that changes things! If we did not name our place Cafe Dios no Muere...we would name it...Casa del colesterol...... More

We visited here for a lunch - and what a great lunch it wsa. A good mix between local and foreign food at a very affordable price. Three floors of character and trandition make any visit here a very special occasion. We were able to chat with the owner and were able to share our impressions and were given great... More

Unique intimate setting with a gracious host/ chef. Three of us dined on the first floor having the opportunity to see the chef at work ,enjoy a few drinks and each others company. An excellent night out.

The beautiful Argentinian woman who works in the B&B where I stay in Quito said I had to try this place before I left town. So, on my last night, she and I went there and I wasn't disappointed. I am particularly drawn to restaurants where they produce as much of the food that they serve as possible. Owner, cook... More

We had a great evening in this restaurant. It is tiny, dark (only lit by candles), crammed and spread over three floors and run buy an American Expat who married an Ecuadorian so you have a nice mix of food. We had a nice Ecuadorian starter and then a massive steak, probably the biggest I have ever eaten and one... More

The helpful people at The Community Hostel recommended the Dios No Muere's Po Boy sandwiches. I wandered down to the corner of Flores and Junin, one late morning, after a night of partying. The sandwich was everything promised, as was the coffee. I found the service friendly in this little, three-floored place. Dios is the most unusual and interesting cafe... More

After many days on the Ecuadorian Corn and dough diet, we were all craving meat. Passing by Dios No Muere on our way 'home' after a day of walking around the city, I remembered reading about this place on Tripadvisor. Thank you so much for the comment. I got a good laugh at your "cannonball" metaphor. Yes indeed...it is a good "shot" of cane liquor made out at our farm.
