This is one of the last authentic Thai restaurant standing in Spore. In the olden days, a typical Thai restaurant would be something like that(coz weather was much better back then....lol)...i am a Thai working here so I know. Food is great. What the Thais eat are : green curry, papaya salad, vegetable omelette, belachan rice, pork with basil, iced... More

Definitely our first choice for Thai. We love the huge selection of current Magazines - perfect whilst you are waiting for their signature dish 'green chicken curry'. This is Thai food made with homemade paste. Now where can you get that in Singapore. This is a shophouse with no air con, the energy of a coffee shop with plenty of... More

Mango salad was perfectly good. The garlic prawn was excellent. Tom Yam was not enough sour. It was so bad the vegetable was good. I would recommend to travelers to try this restaurant.

After moved out from Singapore for few years, I came and visit this restaurant again. It's used to be my favorite one. Unfortunately it is not the same anymore. Just like many other restaurant. Although it looks the same. Menu is the same but quality is just sucks. It used to be very authentic but not anymore. Most obvious is... More

If you are craving for a delicious asian food in Singapore but you're already sick & tired for chinesse, indian & malay cuisine, you have to try this Thai restaurant. The taste is so perfect! Eventough they are selling a fusion food of Thai-Asian, but the alternative of their menu is quite rich, healthy and yet appetizing. I highly recommend... More

A little pricey than the other Thai food chains. Open concept ambience, very packed, waitresses were busy preparing to close the shop when we visited at 9pm. They informed us of their closing time when we walked in. I was told they do not serve tom yam noodles for dinner so I opt for Tom yam goong ($7) with rice... More

In air conditioned Singapore, with thousands of good to excellent restaurants, First Thai stands out. No air-con, open-fronted room on to the street, no professional waiters - just family members in both restaurant and kitchen. BUT the food is truly wonderful. The ambience is reminiscent of 30/40 years ago - colonial times. It is not expensive, the menu is totally... More

I love thai food. I can it eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 7 days a week. And first thai serves the tastiest, freshest thai food you can find in Singapore. I've tried at least 10 thai places in singapore (from Jim Thompson in Demosey to the thai express and the food courts in Changi, and even on the west... More

We ordered a Seafood tom yum soup, fried chilli sambal kangkong and basil chicken going with plain rice. The seafood soup wasn't of any standard at all! The prawns were not fresh and we tasted the lemongrass sour taste more than any spicy note that we should be detecting. Also, there were more buttons mushrooms than the seafood. It ought... More

Had a lunch meeting today at this place, where I'd like to come back to often. The Thai family that runs the place is very friendly, and the staff is quick and competent. A combination not so often seen in Singapore these days. The restaurant is set in a nicely coloured shop house at the start of Purvis street. In... More
