Went there for Mother's Day celebration. Had a reservation by the canal, was sweating while having dinner. Apparently was only informed when we were there menu change due to Mother's Day. Weh? Why can't inform guest when we were making a reservation. Ask the service staff why? They say ohh kitchen can't cope! Huh? Then don't open a restaurant with... More

Was there for dinner on 23 Mar '13. Ordered the following: Signature Hokkien Noodles: not bad..comes with lots of crispy pork lard but lack wok hei Chilli crab: one of the best chili crab I must say. Just the right amount of tomato sauce which does not overpower the chilli and not too spicy. Definitely taste better than some other... More

Food: Fantastic! We had the butter-egg crab. The crab meet was cooked to perfection! Next time we will probably try the black-pepper crab; the egg taste was not my favourite. We also had the steamed grouper which was fabulous. Ambience: plastic chairs but close to river. Toilet a bit messy. Service: very smiley. Price: The crab was only 46SGD for... More

The big eater is big, part open air part air conditioned. So well capable of taking large gatherings. It has a good menu with plenty of variety and some dishes that are away from the standard listings. For example, we had a tofu in pumpkin sauce which was excellent - tofu was moist and delicate, and the pumpkin sauce rich... More

We live around the corner and come here regularly with overseas visitors. The food is consistent and has never let us down. It helps if you speak Mandarin but the service is friendly, never had any complaints. We really enjoy their pepper crab which is substantially better than the standard tourist seafood restaurants on the east coast. Big eater is... More

Went there sometime in may end. Just be aware, it's not air conditioned, and it's a place which is a cross bw a restaurant and a food court. The atmosphere on weekends is very good, you'll mostly spot locals enjoying food with a beer basket of carlsberg or tiger. Another tip: it's a li'l costlier than what is perceived by... More

Expected more as Singapore has very limited resources for Malaysian hokkien Noodles and Big Eater boast of it as a "recommended" dish - must try. The overall atmosphere is nice. Staffers were slightly arrogant - maybe because we didn't order thier most EXPENSIVE item on menu but lucky they still remain neutral and not pushy. We were lucky to be... More

I tried the dish during lunch with my colleague and it's really nice. I'll go back again for black pepper crab but I actually like the black pepper crab in the red house in eastcoast.

This restaurant is a little off the beaten track but well known to locals and office workers nearby. Starting out as a single, open air stall it quickly expanded to now occupy 3 units off Upper Changi Road East about 10 minutes from the airport. There is the choice of outdoor seating, fan and aircon areas, with valet parking in... More

The crabs were fresh and succulent. The meat can be easily removed from the shell. $48 per kg. Other dishes were not too bad. Yam ring was rather good - Tender meat and crispy crust. The service staff kept replenishing our tea and were rather polite and friendly. Restaurant is quite big with an aircon area and an outdoor area.... More
