Had a meal here in April. 3 pax- Shanghai starters were of a good standard. But when it came to the main courses, I found them to be lacking in standard. Still a decent meal, but given all the choices available, I would not pick this as my first choice.

The xiaolongbao was absolutely delicious! It's a little on the expensive side, but worth a visit. I ordered a small bowl of noodles and 3 choices of Shanghai dim sum, with a bill of HKD280.

Friends brought us to this beautiful restaurant inside the Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel. The restaurant felt cozy, had a nice view, and was the perfect setting for a quiet yet fun dinner with friends. To top it all off, the food was delicious, this of course coming from a Michelin star awarded restaurant. I would definitely go back again.

Well, there seems to be some TA confusion on this one! The map shows it his entry as at Marco Polo Hong Kong, but the address is on HK Island at Admiralty - and the reviews seem to be a mixture of both locations. Anyway, my review is of the ye Shanghai at the Marco Polo Hotel in Kowloon. I... More

We were lucky to be taken here by locals and the meal was truly spectacular. We must have had 20 dishes and every one was exquisite and authentic, perfectly prepared (okay, I didn't try the jelly fish, but I'm a wimp). I loved the bamboo and asparagas, all the dim sum, the beef dishes, noodles - it was an embarrassment... More

I am generally not found of chinese food but i loved the food in this restaurant . The choice of dishes was made by my host who knows the shanghaiese food and specialties and who told me that for this type of food , it is the best restaurant in town. Every dish was just excellent . Limited choice of... More

I will start this by saying, Chinese food would never be my food of choice, however I really enjoyed my meal at Ye Shanghai, and with more like this, I could be converted! From the very tasty Shanghai dumplings, through succulent peppered beef and an excellent pork dish, every dish was unique, but all flowed very well. It may well... More

When we first got there, the hostess was a bit awkward but once our Cantonese speaking friend got there, they were very polite and helpful. All the food tasted great my two favorites were the Fatty Pork with Vegetables and the Xiao Long Bao. Definitely a great place to meet groups of friends since they have lots of large tables... More

The cuisine is good to very good but expect -for dinner- to be finished in one hour (appetiser, soup, dim sums, different mains, fried rice, dessert), with all dishes nearly arriving at the same time. This speed reduces dramatically the appreciation for good food which is a shame....expect a different cuisine than the more general Cantonese, but it is very... More

We went the first time without a reservation at about 8PM and the restaurant was packed during a week day. What we ordered was good but the maitre d' wasn't really very helpful in the food to select or wines he would suggest. We returned several days later, with a reservation this time, and seating was much better. A friend... More
