When the first time we visit, we dont even know its one of the famous cafe in Hong Kong, only after we search for the review then we realise.
We visit at night time when they almost close, the owner ask us to have a seat and ask what langguage we prefer, English or Cantonese and we said English..the waitress is...

Marvelous location near the night market.
We stopped in mainly to see the authentic look that we'd read about in the guides and it's all there for sure and well worth seeing.
Seems to be family run business and reasonably friendly but the cute surroundings outstrip the service (we were about to leave when my food, very surprisingly, arrived).

This is a traditional cafe which has been around for more than half a century. We ordered: Soup of the Day, ie Double-boiled Winter Melon Soup (each portion is HK$12 and quantity is about 3 small bowls, can be shared between 2 persons), Braised Rice Vermicelli with Pork Strips and Celery (HK$45, big enough for 2 persons to share) and...

And we also find it a bit expensive for the food we ate and would...

I arrived in Hong Kong at 1:10pm but by 3:30pm I was already at Mido Cafe ready for my high tea which consisted of wonton wrappers with a tomato based gravy dip, pork chop baked rice, French toast, crispy noodle sea food and Hong Kong milk tea. With my three other companions we finished the food withour any difficulty as...

A very special tea cafe..very well known amongst the foreigners as it is one of the most written about tea cafes in Hong Kong. It is indeed very retro with beautiful mosaic floors and old style ceiling fans. The location, opposite the Tin hau temple on the temple street, is very exotic. Have an early dinner here and then visit...

Visited Mido Cafe for brunch/lunch - was yummy. They were more than happy to suggest dishes and offer english explanations. Try the baked pork ribs and wonton wrappers yummy!
Mido cafe is famous mainly for its decor, a 60s 70s style hk cafe, it has been featured in lots of television and movie - so I am been meaning to pay a visit.
The owner and waitress were rude as soon as we arrived telling we must share table (fair enough) and it has to be on one side...
