Four of us first time there. We manage to catch the last trip to the Restaurant (we take buses there and have a distance walk to reach the shum wan Pier). We was impressed by the environment and also the food there. we request the Restaurant Captain to recommend the foods for us. We feel satisfied with the menu she... More

We went along as part of a tour group booking, it's one of those things you have go and do. The restaurant looks amazing at night, sitting all lit up in the harbour. The inside is way over the top in decor (although looking a little tired in places). We had a 8 course dinner, although the servings were small,... More

It seems like over the years, Hong Kong (and Aberdeen Harbor) have continued to grow and change, but Jumbo has always stayed the same. I know that isn't true, since the restaurant looks recently refurbished, but it continues to have a familiar feel over the years I have visited it. The boat ride, which is still impressive at night with... More

Went to the Jumbo last night on a tourist tour that was billed as 'A sumptuous 8 course Chinese dinner', on our table there were 4 other people who were together, so 6 in total with me and my husband. The camaraderie was great as with each course one by one we declared we could not eat what was put... More

This is our third visit, spanning about 5 years. The restaurant has not changed much except for a few more lights. They still run the free launches to and from the restaurant. Our last meal was at noon when we had a full menu including the ala carte buns and other specialties. But, at nite, they only have the regular... More

Interesting experience. Good food, average service. Location, boat ride etc quite impressive. A bit run down and tatty inside.

Ugh. Where to start? For one, the restaurant is in desperate need of refurbishment. The carpets are worn, the paint is faded and cracked, and the whole place smells musty. As for the menu... ridiculously overpriced. $40 for a shrimp dish that would cost $10 anywhere else. That's assuming they have food though. They had NOTHING we attempted to order... More

If congealed buckets of distinctly average food surrounded by huge loud tour groups is your thing - then by all means fill your boots! All three floors have similar standard rubbish tourist restaurants. The only saving grace is the Top Deck which is fabulous.

Price is ten times too high. Paid $626 for four people for supper on April 28, 2013. Same supper would have cost $62 in the USA. Supper consisted of 4 small soup bowls, 4 large mushrooms with a gravy, small dish of peel and eat shrimp, small dish of sliced scallops with cashew nuts, dish of 4 fried crab balls,... More

It's different to get a little shuttle boat out through the harbour to the restaurant, food was ok, portion sizes are big but nothing special, staff are typical for Hong Kong, a real lack of personal service as they just wanted to finish and they try to push certain dishes. Prices are varied. Nice to look at but thats it.
