Supposedly the oldest veg restaurant in Chiang Mai, Aum has an unusual atmosphere to dine in.On the first floor the tables were low and cushions were provided to sit on. A small garden a couple of feet away ad a guitar left to twang on and lots of books around. While the food was good, we felt it was nothing... More

Thailand doesn't cater that well for veggies - so this was a delight to stumble across! Great menu selection and interesting twists on Thai classics - loved the spring rolls with carrot sauce. Excellent quality, quirky little venue and very affordable.

I followed the lonely planet guide and ended up in AUM Vegetarian Food. I had no idea what I would expect as I was not always happy with the food I ate in Thailand so far and got sick from that as well. But the food was exceeding my expectations and it was really delicious as well as the fruit... More

There are a few weird items on the menu, like a lot of seemingly california inspired vegetarian sushi, but the thai we had was very good. We've only eaten at like 5 places in chiang mai at this point, but so far this was the one of the best. Perhaps a little pricey, but with thailand being relatively cheap and... More

Came here twice during our stay in Chiang Mai. First time round had a selection of all sorts, spring rolls, samosa, indian curry, deep fried herbs, brown rice, khao soi, tempura vegetables. Everything was really tasty and came every quick. The reason we came back was the khao soi though, was delicious. Was reasonably priced and the service was friendly... More

Perhaps I'm just a person who is always a bit rushed thus I shouldn't judge, but I've been going to Aum for at least 15 years and the extremely slow service is the only thing that keeps me from returning more often. The food is good but waiting 45 minutes for a banana shake is rediculous...

But now the prices are almost double from what they used to be a few years back. Food is still good though.

I defined my line of reviews as "hotel only"... But I could not resist to write about this lovely and cosy restaurant. Even if you are not a vegetarian you will be delighted with the food: everything is fresh and delicious. I enjoyed it so much that I went to this restaurant twice during my stay in Chiang Mai. Do... Great vegetarian menu and good place to go if you have food allergies/sensitivies (a girl at the next table made requests which the waitress was very happy to accomodate but the girl did have a note in her pocket with her food allergies written down in Thai - so take a note with you if you need to). Not ideal... More
