I only have been dining here for 40 years. Great local Smoked Pork chops and other German fare with the local Millstream beer on tap. Come really hungry. The all you can eat breakfast is really great. We love the thin German pancakes.

We have been going to Amana for approx. 18 years, 2-4 times a year & our favorite breakfast place was always the Colony Inn at least until Jan. 28 2012. We had breakfast there & were very dissapointed that day! The same food was served as always, but all the cooked food (pancakes, eggs, etc.) had a very greasy taste, like...

Our family understands "family style." The Colony Inn serves family style meals, where you receive big bowls of food for everyone at your table, and it's an all-you-can-eat kind of meal. We especially enjoy their breakfasts, which is the meal we enjoyed here.
Our meal started out with orange juice, fruit, and toasted Amana English muffin bread with strawberry preserves....

My sisters and I took our mother to the Colony Inn in Amana, Iowa, for breakfast to celebrate her 84th birthday. The food was very good but the service a little slow but maybe because it was very busy. Make sure to make reservations so that you do not have to wait upon arrival. Also, the breakfast starts with toast...

For 30 years I have often visited the Colony Inn. First, it's a menu of traditional German food, with always sufficient servings...and then some. The help is phenomenal, top notch, friendly, efficient. The offerings are diverse, though centered on the traditional. The setting is pleasant, light, accessible, open, and clean. It's the type of place you'd like to hang out...

We'd read all the reviews, and believed, but as one of the family members was determined to go back, we did. This once-fine Amana restaurant is now sadly dated, both physically and in their menu. The staff were really trying diligently, but couldn't mask the tiredness of the enterprise. My husband and I had probably the best dish on the...

We were disappointed in our visit to the Colony Inn on Wednesday, Sept. 21. The only had two pie choices and were completely out of ice cream. The meal prices seemed high compared to others in town. Place was pretty empty.

Visited Amana Colonies near Davenport, IA, and ate the best weinersnitzel and sauerbraten ever. Served family style and more than we could eat of everything. Don't miss one of the Amana restaurants if you are within 100 miles--well worth the trip for a meal!
