I wasn't planning on getting the tasting menu but was convinced by the waiter to do so. At $85/person, it's a pretty good deal. The chef came up with some great tasting dishes, many of which I had never tasted before.

The restaurant itself looks ok, but it has a very office-building feel (it is in an office building) which detracts from the ambiance. The menu has some interesting flavor combinations, but most dishes fall a little short as far as taste. I got a piece of shell in my crab appetizer, and my guest also crunched down on two pits/shells... More

With its location just around the corner from the Farragut West Metro station, The Oval Room is the perfect location for dining prior to attending a function at The Kennedy Center. We entered, on a rainy evening, prior to our 5:30 pm reservation. As diners were not being seated as yet, we had a very pleasant drink and conversation with... More

Dining here is a very pleasant experience. The atmosphere is ideal for relaxing and conversation. The service is attentive. The food is delicious. It does have its quirks, though, both the curious and the annoying. First the curious: every item on the menu is a combination of different flavours. It's not just fois gras, but fois gras with coffee and... More

This is a great place for a business lunch or nice dinner. The food is excellent but a tad pricy. The outside seeting area is amazing. And waiters are professional.

Ate on the patio because we just got a puppy and needed to find a place with outdoor seating. The Hay Adams hotel recommended. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating to the puppy and us. They even brought the dog water. The food was creative and yummy. The white asparagus soup was fantastic. The oysters were great with an... More

we found the service overbearing with frequent visits by our waiter and lots of questions. The food was okay but not special, and expensive for what we got. we also found the choice somewhat limited. They then turned the aircon to very cold to hurry us out.

We found this a great place for lunch. Bright and friendly interior, relaxing and invigorating atmosphere. Every dish we ordered was imaginatively conceived, superbly prepared and beautifully presented. We particularly recommend the soups, salads and the pastas. These and the sandwiches break the standard molds with subtle and unique new flavors. Service is prompt, professional and friendly. The wine list... More

This restaurant is not for those seeking a casual dining experience. The food was very good, and the service was friendly. Great place to meet for a business dinner.

This place stands out as a fine dining restaurant that isnt a steakhouse. The menu includes a number of excellent fish dishes ( both the cod and rockfish were excellent) that had superbly flavored sauces. The ginger oysters on the starters list were great and not to be missed. Portions are small for the US ( and thus normal sized... More
