The place is lovely, and is very close to the city center. The building has an interesting history as in old times the Ice from the close by lake was stored in an underground pit under this building, and distributed in the city in worm days. We visited the restaurant for a lunch after recommendation from locals. The premises are welcoming. All of our party choose different dishes. The portions were big (maybe too big - as at many restarants in Hungary) and all of us were fully satisfied with the quality and taste.

There are many excellent restaurants in Sopron and The Jégverem (Ice cave) is one of the better ones - I live very local to Sopron and often eat out in the city.
Pros: big portion size and good choice of food -
Cons: It takes an age for the food to turn up (speaking from 3 times this has happened...

We ate at Jegverem for a number of reasons: 1) Lonely Planet recommended it, 2) it was right across the street from our pension, 3) it was one of the few places still open! The Lonely Planet said that it serves large portions and this is no lie. We didn't come close to finishing anything. Do NOT get appetizers here...
