We ordered tea and cheesecake and although it wasn't the best I've tasted you are paying for the ambiance and experience. The building is truly stunning so was worth every penny.

I think our two deserts here cost more than our dinner meal in another restaurant that night. It's the kind of place that people go just to see it. Ornate gold decor everywhere. The food was good and you really could imagine yourself in the Golden Age Budapest...but I definitely wouldn't pay for more than coffee and desserts or possibly...

This most certainly is a beautiful place to eat. The décor is absolutely stunning and the atmosphere is superb. We had lunch at this delightful cafe. However, I felt the menu was a bit limited and the food was mediocre for the price paid. Service was average.
This cafe does not look the part of the outside, but from the inside it will take you a long time to absorb the gorgeous, grand and detailed decor. I visited the cafe with my sister in May around lunch time on a Saturday. It was very busy, with people queuing up outside to get a table. The cafe doesn't...

The architecture is just amazing, we visited the place just to have a look and we were completely captivated by the beauty of the building and its decoration. The place transport you to the golden era of Budapest. It's worth to stay a while, enjoy the food and listen the live piano.
Food is nothing special, but the place itself is one you should visit - beatifully done, Vienna Opera house - looks less luxurious

I had a soya latte (they had no problem with my dairy allergy) and my mum had a white chocolate and strawberry hot chocolate, she said it was beautiful. the view is amazing, the interior...

We had trouble getting the chef's menu and had to ask a few times, the waiters were aloof and slightly arrogant. After seeing recommendations from Frommers' guide book and the Hop On Hop Off Tour, we decided to have coffee and breakfast at the New York Cafe in Budapest. The cafe is very beautiful however that is the only good thing I can say about our experience there.
We were seated right up front by the entrance, after waiting 15 minutes...

Beautiful, just amazing, what can I say.
The desserts, the wines and the cold drinks (I've tried the lemonade with champagne) excellent but pricey.
We were there twice and the second time the waiter forgot to bring us the bill so we had to go downstairs to ask for it... shouldn't have happened in that kind of restaurant.
Unfortunatelly the...
