Great place, great food, great service but they will try to push you with wines and "today's specials" without telling you the prices. Do not hesitate to ask the prices, otherwise you may find yourself with a REALLY big bill to pay.

We had two excellent meals at this bistro in Pest - there is also one in Buda. We would have eaten there more but it was fully booked and is deservedly very popular. The service is good and friendly. There is a full menu and a range of daily specials which the staff (who all speak good English) will explain...

You know it's a good restaurant when the daily specials are as many as the a la carte menu. The waiters were funny with a bit of an arrogant attitude but in a nice way. When we asked for recommendation for wine, he basically decided for us and said, I'll bring you a red for the starter and another red...

Liked the decor. The waiters were laughably arrogant. Menu not very explicit. The English translation was quite poor with many errors. We laughed about the translation! Not enough wholesome low-fat foods on menu. Vegetables were scarce and should not be the case given the high cost of the meal.
An extensive specials menu, large portions, great wine and their own look on Hungarian food. They have the bizarre ice cream selection (tobacco for example) but also the Big Bock Burger. Based in a beautiful but expensive hotel, this restaurant is perhaps the best in Hungary. Having visited it three times in 2 years, I keep wanting to go back!
We managed to book a table at short notice. The waiter was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, respectful and gave us excellent advice for the choices of food and wine to accompany our meal. We had a fabulous meal and would highly recommend this Bistro.
I was rather looking forward to my lunch at Bock Bistro. This restaurant was recommended to me by no less than the maitre d'hotel at Michelin start restaurant Onyx. His two other recommendations were Borkonyha WineKitchen and Cafe Bouchon where I had a very pleasant dinner the night before. Furthermore, Bock was fully booked for dinner for upcoming two evenings,...

Hadn't done my homework, but was lucky enough to end up in the Buda restaurant by chance. It was really buzzing on a Thursday night. Service was great and the waiter took a lot of trouble explaining the dishes to us. Wines were impressive and main courses of goat and salmon were delicious. Highly recommended.
Two locations; one in Buda side and one in Pest side. i visted the one in the pest side; located in Corinthia Hotel, Elizabeth Korut. Opened from lunch through dinner but closed Sundays.
Reservation is necessary, but, if you go between 3-5, you have good chance to find a table without reservation. Very favourable amongst Locals and Expatriates. We used...

Make sure you book a day in advance, because this place is very popular.
Although they have more common menu items as well, Bock Bistro specialize in dishes made of parts of the animal usually not eaten by many - liver, tongue, cheek, neck, feet etc. But they prepare them excellently.
My wife started her dinner with salmon tartare with...
