We were directed to this restaurant by the staff at Hotel Benczúr on our last night in Budapest. The hotel staff called ahead to make a reservation for us (it was a Tuesday night) but we could have had a table without a reservation. Decor is folksy (faux country inn style); staff were very pleasant. Food was very good (and... More

This was the best restaurant we had diner at during our Budapest stay. Cheap, good and tasty local Hungarian food. Located a but our of the city centre, but taxi's are cheap as well, so head over. Get the Paprika special (for two persons), lots of meat!

Paprika is very popular - you need to book. Hungarians love it, which is testament to the quality of its food. My advice would be to be very hungry if you plan a starter and main, or skip the starter and just have the main, because the portions are very generous.

Book a table, we came on a Monday night first and were told they were full so booked for Tuesday and went off ending up with a poor meal elsewhere. On the Tuesday table ready for us, but clearly full and stayed full with tables turning. Service was excellent in terms of taking initial order and bringing drinks (happy to... More

The food here is very traditional and comes in large portions. The atmosphere feels like an old Hungarian hunting lodge with lots of wood. We had booked ahead via the hotel and had a table waiting, the staff although informal were professional and helpful explaining the various dishes. I opted for the traditional Goulash to start which could have been... More

A visit to Paprika is a food hajj for me; every time I visit Budapest I always take a detour to visit. Why? I will tell you why. 1) The food is great. Not just good, great! The meats are top-quality (and trust me when I say I know good meat when I see it) and cooked the way they... More

Went there following the TA recommendations. During the workday early afternoon, there was no problem to get the table. Had (compulsory) gulyasleves - goulash soup - and pork with potatoes and vegetables. The bill for soup, two main courses and four beers was 9000HUF. The only trifle was to wait for the bill, we had empty glasses for 15 mins.... More

My second visit to Budapest a friend took us to Paprika. The food is very traditional and lots of locals were there enjoying the oversized portions. The atmosphere feels like an old Hungarian hunting lodge with oversized hewn chairs. It took a while to have our order taken which gave us ample time to observe the large platters of food... More

A Hungarian restaurant worth a visit. It was busy when we arrived as this place is popular, and we waited about 15 minutes before they could seat us. We ordered a variety of dishes, everything tasty and made the wait worth it. An outdoor seating area available but seems to be "reserved" all the time. It's my 3rd visit to this place,and... More

This restaurant offers traditional hungarian food, everything was very delicious, but leg of goose with goose liver was just amazing!!! Still cant forget it!!! :-) The restaurant has tables also outside, so when its hot, it can bery very pleasant to sit there. The staff is very friendly and speaks English on a good level. Strongly recommend!!!
