Restaurant boasts that they have the best Mexican food on the Sunshine Coast. We dined on a Friday night for my husband's birthday. Place was packed when we arrived at 7.00pm and then empty by 8.00pm. Waitress said everyone leaves early to watch the football so if you're planning to go here, book early. The service was good. Staff were... More

I agree the margarita's were good but if you want one after 8.30pm forget it, the food was poor especially for the price.. And the customer service appauling !!! Extreamly poorly run reasturant.

We went to this place with high expectations. The margaritas were good and that was it. The salsa, nachos, tortillas and guacamole tasted straight off a supermarket shelf. The tortillas had that preserved smell that comes from a store bought pack. None of the dishes tasted any different from eating in a food court (probably even worse). Montezumas is much... More

My wife and I spend three months every two years at our son's home in Massachusetts, USA. While there we are frequent diners at Mexican restaurants, and marvel at their quality and value for money. In Australia we have lived a stone's throw from La Casita Mexicana, formerly Megs Mexican Restaurant in the main street of Caloundra. We have promised... More

There were a few good reviews for this place so we were looking forward to trying this place on Friday night... How disappointing. The young waitress was well presented and although obviously very new to the industry had a good energy. Unfortunately that's where the positives ended. The food was soggy and actually a bit on the pricey side. We weren't... More

The restaurant is small and quaintly decorated, and oozes charm. The owner is always welcoming and the staff follow his example and seem very happy. The prices are very reasonable and the food... oh my goodness the food... is amazing. Best Mexican I have ever had! If you are thinking Mexican and are fed up with Montezumas rude staff and... More

We dined here tonight, and had a lovely time with fantastic service. They have a good range of gluten free meals and their drinks list is extensive and fairly priced. Kids menu (they also split a can of drink between two kids at no extra charge); also have 'non-Mexican' meals if someone in your dining party is not entirely partial... More

Rolled up on a Friday night, we had a made a reservation as our son wanted Mexican for his birthday. As usual the service was excellent, with staff attentive and courteous. Food was great and generous servings although we did only have the basic fare of nachos. The other dishes I saw being given to diners though looked great and... More

We live in Brisbane and get away to Caloundra for short breaks a couple of times a year. La Casita is not part of a chain like Montezuma's, so the food is more authentic and the owner is always welcoming. We've never been disappointed with a meal there yet.

On entering the restaurant it looks a bit kitsch with the mixture of Mexican ornaments everywhere, but I guess you may get that when a place has a theme - plus Mexican restaurants tend to be like this anyway. We were "early diners" (around 6pm) and with not many people in the restaurant the noise does echo so when the... More
