We had dinner at the Rooster on a Saturday night and had a few issues. Firstly they twice they didn't have the wine that was on the wine list. One of the main courses had to be returned was the meat was too tough, they did replace the main course with another dish. To finish the meal they didn't return... More

This place Is a shocker. They are marketing and pricing themselves as a top French restaurant. The entrees were at best amateur but the steak with bernaise was actually foul. Poor quality produce and overcooked. The vegetables were overcooked mush.we passed on comments and only response was to bring bill. Places like this are bad for tourism and this rubs... More

We visited this restaurant for our 2nd night away and really enjoyed it. It was a Sunday night, so I was pleasantly surprised it was even open. We ended up going for the $79 3 course option. I had the quail (it was perfect, but the menu said deboned, but contained bones, not quite sure what that is about..), followed... More

Barry meets you at the door and attends to you like an old friend. The setting is charming and the French food is delectable!

We dined at the Rooster over the Easter weekend. The building is set in a quiet suburban street with a nice atmosphere. Tables are scattered through different rooms of the house which is old and full of character. Our reception was warm and welcoming though once the menu was presented, no one came near us to take our drink or... More

I'm big on French food and I have been to many good and not so good French restaurants. Unfortunately, Rooster turned out to be the latter. I ordered a duck dish which was not even near what it was supposed to be. It was tough and I had to fight it. How can a renowned French restaurant staff up their... More

We dined at The Roooster on Saturday 9th March. Met at the door by very pleasant waiter but down hill from there. I think one of the problems was only having 2 waiters working on the night. Lol I am still waiting for my black pepper for my main and the dessert menu. I ordered the beef cheeks which wrere... More

If you're lucky you'll meet Barrie, the knowledgable and friendly waiter who took great care of us. Duck a l'orange and seafood cassoulet were delicious, as was the bottle of Carillion SauvBlanc. Prix fixe meal ($72 two courses) arrived with escargots and a delicious goat cheese tartlet. Crusty loaf of hot bread (to soak up the garlic butter from the... More

We recently went to The Rooster to celebrate a special occasion and we wish we'd chosen another restaurant! Our waiter was lovely - friendly, knowledge and helpful. The wine was great too. But that's where it ended. 45 minutes after we ordered, we were told that we couldn't have one of our entree choices so another selection was made. We... More

Eating at the Rooster really was a memorable experience for my husband and myself. A lovely, romantic atmosphere. Intimate tables for two with plenty of space for privacy. Our waiter was genuinely friendly and attentive and made us feel welcome. Food was beautifully presented, portions were generous, and appropriate for the dishes. Lovely flavours, with all dishes living up to... More
