Try the ceveche. In fact all of the fish selections were fresh and delicious. Breakfast is a buffet and adequate to get you through all of the adventures Samana has to offer.

Beautiful open-air restaurant on the beach at Balcones del Atlantico. The staff is extraordinarily friendly and attentive. Breakfast buffet was very good with some variations every day. Sandwiches were great for lunch, seafood was always fresh and well-prepared. We ate here most of the days of our 9 day stay and were never disappointed.
Great Ceviches and tiraditos. Peruvian oriented. The infrastructure is magical, just a couple of meters of the sea. Need to improve the options in the menu with more variety and include more plate with fish. The prices of the wire are very high, as well the price of the menu.
Porto's primary flaw is that the food is inconsistent. We ate seven breakfasts, two dinners and about three lunches, and frankly think we had a great meal only one of those times. (We were staying at Balcones).
The food is cooked unevenly, so chicken is raw one day and so dry the next day that it is inedible. Portion sizes...

We ate the majority of our meals at the resort's restaurant, Porto – the food was excellent. The breakfast menu is a bit limited but this is well and truly compensated by the lunch and dinner menus that offer a range of delicious dishes. The tempura veggies and shrimp risotto were our favorites. We spoke with the chef, Bruno, almost...

My husband and I have gone to Porto on several occasions and have always enjoyed a wonderful meal. But today we went for a light lunch. I knew I would enjoy enything they would serve, but the mini hamberger I had was the best on the island, it surpassed my expectations. It was served with some of the best frech...

The restaurant is in a lovely setting at Balcones del Atlantico resort. Chef Bruno greeted us our first visit, which was nice, but he's a man of few words so it was also a bit awkward. The menu is a bit unbalanced, trying to be a high-end dining experience, but in reality it needs to service a family crowd at...

Dined here on Christmas Eve. Worst meal we have ever experienced anywhere in the world. Food was terrible. Cold, salty, disgusting. Service was awful. The bill was the biggest disappointment, $170 for two persons, a cold, disgusting buffet and a half glass of wine. The waiter "forgot" to serve the other beverages and offered to send us an email to...

My husband and I are on our honeymoon at Balcones del Atlantico. We were exhausted after a long day of traveling to get to the resort and opted for eating at the hotel restaurant instead of cooking. I had a delicious and strong Pina Colada and my husband had an ice cold Presidente. The views from our table were incredible...

Porto is Incredible!!!!
My (now) husband and I travel to Las Terrenas a few times per year. In July of 2011, we were there on vacation with some family and happen to drive past Porto, and decided to try it out. Thankfully we did!!!! As soon as we walked in we were overwhelmed by the beauty of the restaurant, it...
