My partner & I dined here during a weekend away at the Hunter. We had heard great reviews and were eager to try ourselves. We had the three course meal and were completely stuffed by the end! Everything from the service, the food, to the wonderful atmosphere made for the most beautiful evening. The portions were perfect and everything we... More

I ended up here after my booked restaurant could not open and recommended Muse...so I had no expectations. It was, in short, excellent. Two of us had the degustation menu (chose our own wines) and it was a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Superb flavours in every dish.. It is not a cheap and cheerful experience but... More

We had dinner at Muse during a recent long weekend in the Hunter Valley - it was the foodie highhlight of our weekend! Everything was exceptional - the attentive, flawless, well-coordinated service, beautiful touches like the amuse bouche, imaginative palate cleanser, and no quibbles about extra servings of the home baked bread; a great menu beautifully cooked; a lovely warm... I have eaten here twice now, the first time was better than the second but I still thoroughly enjoyed each time! The food is a little on the expensive side however it is not lacking for taste. The service is very professional which can sometimes seem a bit "cold" however it's whats to be expected in such a high class... More

My wife and I are foodies and enjoy eating out. We visited Muse for the second time a week ago. I was disappointed the service was right on the mark. All the dishes were memorable and still make my mouth water now. The food is quite creative. The highlights were the lamb with Jerusalem artichoke sauce, quail with pumpkin risotto... More

Had lunch here on Sunday. This was by far the best place we dined at in the Hunter (went to Botanica, Leaves and Fishes and Twine). Treat yourself - it's well worth it.

During a recent business trip we visited this restaurant both as a part of a wine tour and separately. I found the waiters almost too professional or uptight. It all seemed a little robotic and it didn't seem like they could adapt to different requests or anything outside of their trained speil. The food was good, however I found the... More

Third time here and I'm a little disappointed. It's lost the love. Massive plates, Mirõ looking plates, interesting flavours and still hungry after the meal. Last times we were there, we had amuse bouche, little samplers between meals, a sommelier helped us with our wines, on this occasion we got nothing of the sort. Food is still interesting and it's... This has been our favorite restaurant since it opened. We dined the night after our wedding and for our first anniversary and at least four times a year. We get the feeling it is now a "cash cow". I say this reluctantly and with sadness, but we will not return and can no longer recommend either the food or the... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent dinner at Muse restaurant. The large room, with open kitchen at one end and an impressively roaring fire in a huge fireplace on one side, was dimly but sufficiently lit, and the noise level, despite a large number of customers, was muted. The service was impressively professional and the excellent food was elegantly presented. My... More
