only had breakfast in here, would like to see if dinner was any good. decent for breakfast compared to other places in wellington.

Le Metropolitain has closed. The new owners call the restaurant "Deccan Metropoltain" and it is a very different place. Basiclly it is a cafe/ coffee shop with a leaning towards indian food. Interior completely redone as a contemporary coffee shop look seving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The best French bistro in Wellington is sadly now just another Indian type lunchroom.... More

I always try and visit if I am overnighting in Welly. It never fails to disappoint! Wish there was an equivalent in Auckland.

We go here once or twice every year and enjoy good French food. Could be anywhere in France. It is a great shame that they have closed down due to rent increases

Not really but closest thing to it. I had the french onion soup, delicious, and my partner the Planche apero - platter of cheese, pate and pickle. French fries were also mandatory! Service was excellent, french speaking of course and a very reasonable price.

A mix of modern and classic French dishes, and the best French onion soup I have ever had.

We came across this restaurant by chance whilst walking around Wellington. Looks and feels like the real thing, the staff even speaking French and the bill was printed in French also. Very good food at sensible prices all served up with excellent service. What more can be said?
