Set among the vineyards is the old Hawkes Bay Mission. Now a resturant and function centre. The setting is absolutely sensational and the food is always good. We started with the mini loaf, the only negative of this was there were not enough roasted garlic cloves for us both. A favourite with my partner and I, we always go to the mission for special occassions (and are going tonight in fact). The atmosphere, service and food are always outstanding, the menu changes with the seasons (as it should). Can't rave about it enough - and the best cheese platter I've ever had :-) More

We ate here because of its proximity to our hotel, the Mission B&B on the Avenue. The grounds are lovely and a pre-dinner drink while strolling the backyard views over the vineyard is a must. The food is good, but the service was 5 star. More
