Description: George Calombaris' flagship Melbourne restaurant for MAdE Establishment has cemented itself on the global dining scene with its unique Modern Greek cuisine. In October 2006, the four directors joined together to form The Press Club Group, and opened their first venue, The Press Club Restaurant and Bar. This began a new era for George Calombaris and cemented his place as a culinary star for his Modern Greek Cuisine - never seen before Melbourne; where modern twists to traditional Greek cuisine has put this restaurant on the global map and has diner’s wanting more. The Press Club seats 90 guests and also offers a large, completely private dining room for up to 30 guests. This space can be split into two smaller rooms for groups of up to 18 and 10 guests. The open kitchen brings an element of drama to the contemporary dining room, and professional service staff, complete the winning combination.

The food here was good, but was expecting more for the price. It is nothing special, very similar to any other modern Australian Restaurant.

Expected fantastic food from Masterchef's George Calombaris being so picky and all on the show. However, the food was bland, and the recipe was quite bad (truffle on raw egg? the egg yolk overpowered the subtle flavours of the truffle, wasting $50 surcharge for the truffle). Furthermore, if you're paying $300+ / head (including surcharge and wine), you'd expect to... More

It's changing names, but it will stay the same! Greek fusion, charming ambiance, and a cocktail menu you'll remember. Every course was fun and unique. Seriously, try a cocktail as a starter.

The food was good but I think they were more worried about presentation than feeding people, it cost too much for very little food, got something else to eat after we left.

The Press Club was beautiful and great from the moment you walk in to the moment you waddle out because your so full and possibly drunk. We loved the modern take of Greek food and we had a 6 course degustation completed with matching wines. We also fell in love the water glasses that i ended up buying them lass... More

From the moment you walk in and sit at your table, the staff ensure that you are made to feel welcome, and special. The degustation menu sends your tastebuds on a trip of their own. Things I wouldn't normally eat, I happily tasted and enjoyed.

I've been to Press Club a few times, it's always exceptional. My ONE complaint is it's popularity, it was - in my mind - a secret until recently. Super-slick service, wow food and a brilliant - sometimes literally - ambience

We had a beautiful lunch at The Press Club. The service was second to none and the food was beautiful- Greek with a modern twist. I ordered a meal called (I think) 'flower' and the presentation of the food was like a work of art. I was reluctant to destroy my masterpiece, but once I got a taste for the... More

The word food as I understand it is not served in the degustation banquet offered at this establishment. It is one of the most pretentious restaurants I have had the misfortune to try in a long while (not dine at as that involves the ingestion of food and if that occurred at this venue then it was not noticed by...
