Nice service and okay food. Nothing spectacular and the atmosphere didn't do much for me. Very noisy and not ideal for a sit-down restaurant. They use TONS of wasabi on their sushi- be warned. I suggest ordering it on the side. With so many options for great high quality sushi in Melbourne- I would not recommend this experience at all.

A group of business colleagues - we had one of the set menus - may be a little expensive for some plus colleagues had a 'few' extras - great value given all the dishes and the variety - very friendly and no fuss service. Recommended

I had heard a lot about this iconic Melbourne restaurant and was looking forward to dining with my girlfriend. On arrival the staff were welcoming but the decor is a little dated. The food was good enough but nothing outstanding or memorable.

On a recent trip to Melbourne, we came across Kuni's while looking for a Japanese restaurant. Thanks to the positive reviews on TripAdvisor, we decided to have dinner there. The service was fantastic, very helpful on the dishes, attentive but not in your face. We had the $75 set menu and was not disappointment. The food was brilliant and very... More

We always make a point of visiting this old favourite. The sushi/sashimi plate is always beautifully presented. Sukiyaki is to die for - the meat just melts in your mouth. Hope to visit again soon!

The location is just in the CBD, around many other asian restaurants. This one is however definitely worth a visit! Very attentive service, excellent menu...as authentic as you can get outside Japan.

Japanese food is simple and tasteful and this little joint is a buzz, So make sure you get in early sushi and tempura nice and fresh. Prices are comptable to other Japanese places in around Melbourne

It's a lovely space, the service is great but the food tastes tired and dull. It's fine go as a family after a visit to the Museum but you'd be mad to come here for a great night out.

Kuni's used to be a favourite of mine some years ago so 3 of us lunched here recently and we were all disappointed by the food we were served. We had 3 different meals to taste a cross section of the food - the bento box, the lunch set and the sushi. We all said the dishes lacked flavour and... More

I was in Japan on a holiday March 2012 and fell in love with Japan! Been to a few Japanese restaurant after coming back to Australia, I must say Kuni's is one of the many that can be actually compared! Staff was excellent, food was good. Did think it was a little bit over priced but overall good experience!
