I have been going here for years. I usually only get take-away. My son and I went here for a meal. we just loved it. Always efficient staff and great food.

We'd enjoyed this little restaurant on a previous visit to Hobart, so we thought we'd give it another go. Packed out on a Friday night, we had to wait 20 mins for a table (should've booked!). Service was friendly, if a little slow. House wine very drinkable. The essence of the food is the rich sauces and the variety of...

Take away. Asked for tax invoice, didn't get it. No fork to eat it with. No napkin. Meal was almost $20. Salty and close to being inedible. Yuck. Still hungry. Returned for tax invoice and missing drink that was warm. Not acceptable at all. Do staff get any training at all?
The Tandoor and Curry house was not so far from my hostel, so I checked the restaurant. The waiters were very freindly and the price/quality was excellent. For 30 dollar we had some startes, an entre, the main course, desserts and non-alcoholic drink. I can only recomand it.
This is a hidden gem of a resteruant in hobart.
From the outside it doesnt look much but its all about the food.
I try every indian resteruant i come accross and this is the best i have ever had.
The banquet is recommended with generous entrees and mains.
Only possible downside is a waiter who has only been there...

There are a number of Indian restaurants in the vicinity of this place, and I didn't try them all, but this one was certainly worth the visit! The food was delicious, the customer service was excellent, and we will definitely be visiting again.
Like a previous reviewer, we stayed at a hotel up the road. We love Indian food and this one didn't disappoint. We think the owner could make more of the heritage of the building and perhaps be a bit more enthusiastic about selling the experience and food choices. The tandoor is an attraction as far as we are concerned -...

First of all, I must admit, I never sat down here and ate a meal, BUT I certainly availed of their take out service on several occasions - so I can only comment on the food. Personally I found the food to be excellent, and in my opinion this place shares No. 1 spot with Annapurna for the best Indian...

You get what you pay for here. The vegie samosas were great, they were big and full of flavour. The curries don't contain any vegetables, just a rich (slightly salty) sauce with tender meat. Nothing special just good simple food at a good price. We had 2 x portion of samosas, 2 x curries with rice and a garlic naan,...

Went to Tandoor on a Saturday night and the evening did not start well when the greeting waiter could not find our booking and appeared quite disgruntled at the inconvenience of having to find a table for three in a mostly empty restuarant. After being seated the service was unenthusiastic and became slower and sloweras the night went on. The...
