After reading so many good reviews of ‘Caffiend’ I figured I should give it a go. Hidden down an alley way it gives you the impression you are sitting in a back alley of Melbourne. The staff is friendly and confident of their skill. To make coffee can certainly be an art. I personally enjoy long black coffee and there’s... More

Food was ok, poached eggs had runny whites, location is interesting, wife asked for caramel macchiato was told that those two don't go together. Staff were slightly confrontational.

Unreal breakfast with great coffee. My partner and i had the big breaky which featured some seriously good chat spuds. Be sure to stop by this hidden treasure for a great meal.

I had the homemade baked beans with a perfect poached egg and an excellent spicy tomato juice. The cafe looks out onto an alley filled with street art and has a great feel to it.

Cairns does not have many good choices for coffee where there is a bit of atmosphere and decent coffee. This is as good as it gets. Yes, it is open, no air con, and this is the tropics, but air con places seem pretty sterile. They do have fans and if you are lucky you can sit right by one.... More

Had breakfast here a couple of weeks ago. Love the location and feeling of caffiend, down the alley way out of the main street. Perfect coffee. I had the tarragon pancakes with blueberries and chocolate sauce and orange ice-cream. I only chose this to try the flavour combo which I'd never had or heard of before and it was delicious.... More

I took my friends from sydney and they were surprised to find such a cool little cafe in Cairns. Although the place is small, the food was delicious. Its a little on the pricey side but they do use local products and the taste is there. I had cooked mushrooms with spinach and goats cheese feta on sourdough... mm YUM!

We had read amazing reviews regarding this cafe so our expectations were high. My partners meal was substantial and tasty but mine was a little disappointing. I opted for the pancakes and blueberries with chocolate sauce and it was seriously too much chocolate for the most passionate chocoholic. The service was prompt but a little unfriendly, which could have been... More

We had a couple of hours to kill in Cairns, so stopped in for a quick breakfast - and were absolutely blown away by the food. This was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Chilli jam on poached eggs with some avocado - it was packed with flavor and spice but not too much. Absolutely delicious. Coffee was... More
