I really loved my visit to Ganbaranba! The atmosphere is a little kooky and a bit confusing, but that just added to the charm. I was really impressed by the service. We were quickly seated and brought a jug of ice-cold tea. The menu was fairly small, but dishes sounded very tasty. Prices for mains were generally around $10-15 and... More

What a great Japanese place. Food is fresh, delicious and fast. Talk about great value as well with a filling meal costing as little as $10. Fresh home made gyoza are delicious. No credit card or eftpos so remember cash. They also offer a loyalty card with free food after every couple of visits. More

I went in last night for dinner with my boyfriend. Although it is a tiny restaurant, you can still enjoy the environment there. Nice place to have meal. It is cheap and delicious. The nicest thing is they explained their food for you on the notice board... The staff are friendly. The only thing you need to remember is to... More

Absolute Best Gyouza! And there's quite a few Japanese places in Cairns, so that's a feat. No frozen stuff - they make their own. They also make their own pork stock for some of the noodles. The names of their dishes have double meanings which is a bit cheeky- ask a Japanese local. Or the staff if you can catch... More

Truly the worst meal I've had in years. The soup seems to be made from Maggi stock cubes, the other dish same but drained of stock and even the pickles were bland and almost tasteless. If this is 'authentic', fine. I could give you 'authentic' from England but who wants that rubbish? More

We've been to Ganbaranba many times, and are always extremely satisfied. The food is delicious, the service is warm and friendly, and the overall atmosphere is lively and fun. Upon returning from a week in Osaka, I can tell you that Ganbaranba does what is very difficult to do. The food is authentic, identical, and perfectly faithful to its traditional... More

After being introduced to this cute little Japanese noodle bar restaurant by a local in 2010, I keep going back for more. The staff all call out to welcome and farewell you as you enter and leave the restaurant, the kitchen is open to the dining area and the place has a great atmosphere as a result. The menu's are...
