I used to go to Malay for lunch with a friend every now and again as there really was no better laksa. I would switch between the veggie and the chicken and they were great choices for a very filling meal and it helped it was easy on the wallet also.
This place made me fall in love with Laksa's...

Very busy, get there ahead of lunch rush hour as office workers stream in from all over the CBD. You will be very challenged to get a seat at this time. We got lucky.
Had laksa with chicken and prawns. To be honest the prawns were smaller than I or my Aussie lunch companion thought they would be, but it...

Althou i'm a regular at the malay chinese restaurant but i've recently discovered a new laksa place at chinatown called Nonya, love their laksa and hainese chicken!!!
This has been a favourite of mine, as it moved from various locations in the last couple of decades, but always with the same high quality of food, and the same family running it(they came from Penang originally). They feature their Laksa dish and it is very good. The place also has a selection of other dishes including a range of precooked meals in the baine marie with a very good Rendang. Very cheap and not very fancy - typical of a noodle joint. Very nice for a quick meal.

If so I'd say more than 90% of the patrons (like me) wouldn't have a clue either given the unmistakable aroma emanating from the steaming bowls of rice noodle, tofu, towgay (bean sprouts for the uninitiated) topped with succulent...

hands down the best laksa I have EVER EVER had. I opted for teh Chicken Laksa and I couldnt have been happier. Tip: Opt for the 30c bid to avoid the splash-ige. Pull up a pew, don't mind the lines that are snaking around you and tuck in. The best value, most enjoyable thing you can do in Sydney.
