Had a few pizzas here during my stay. Staff were friendly and prices not bad. Good variety on menu to choose from.
My partner and I ordered a supreme and calzone pizzas. We LOVE calzone! The supreme barely had any toppings and arrived on a base so thin that it reminded me of half a piece of Lebanese bread. The calzone was NOT a calzone. It was...two thin round bases with a bit of spinach, crumbs of fetta and heaps of garlic from a jar, between the 2, not properly sealed, bases. Totally inedible. The only good thing was how friendly the staff were. They didn't charge us for the dreadful calzone! Never again!More
Surely one of the best in Sydney. Our pasta, risotto were so tasty we had to finish them although the large serving filled us up quickly. The prawn and salad were excellent too.
A regular restaurant for my groups of friends - now not sure why, but the dough has changed to something resembling a salad cracker and a huge disappointment so we won't be going back. my whole group of 17 were not happy
We walked in for a takeaway pizza at Arthur’s last night at about 8pm on our way home - the place was empty and I can understand why - the pizza base was like a big dry biscuit and about 1 mm thick if that...- the outside rim was equally thin and consequently burnt to a cracker - the toppings of the Napoletana were all there but overcooked and dry. We have been going to Arthur’s for many years and have been noticing a gradual deterioration in the quality of its pizzas - but last night was totally disappointing and probably the worst “pizza” we have ever had - anywhere. To be honest it should not be called a pizza - and we will never go there againMore
We recently enjoyed a couple of pizzas here, the Supreme and the Capone (lamb sausage, marscapone, spinach, tomato, harissa sauce). Whilst they are not gourmet or wood fired pizzas, they were certainly decent. Crust and base are thin and crispy (not soggy). Toppings were tasty...and evenly spread over the pizza, although they are fairly light on and, as a result, you probably need to order more than you might at other places. We ordered two large pizzas between 3 but we were all hungry and should have ordered 2 family size. There are 4 sizes - kids ($14), medium ($18), large ($24) and family ($28). It is worth noting that you can only choose half/half toppings on the family size. Service was great - friendly and prompt. We had an issue with one pizza where the seafood appeared to be undercooked and although they politely maintained that it was fully cooked, they also didn’t hesitate to offer to replace it if we were concerned. They quickly took our order for a new non-seafood pizza and it arrived without delay or fuss which I thought was excellent customer service. Seating and decor is fairly basic. A long string of booth style tables runs along the wall, opposite the counter and opens up to a small dining area at the back. We had been out walking longer than we expected and just wanted to grab something to eat. We were passing so it suited us to sit down but other than convenience, there’s not a lot to attract you to dine in. Mostly the business seems to be take away and home delivery and whilst the delivery guys were doing an absolutely roaring trade, it was fairly quiet in the dining area. Yes, there are more upmarket pizzas around but this is a very decent option and it served our purposes very well at the time.More
Worth the wait for home delivery but you have to wait up to an hour. Crisp thin base and always exact to the order. Can't wait for our regular pizza night in lockdown
Ordered two pizzas from Arthurs for home delivery recently. It seems you cant order directly from Arthurs in Randwick since the tel number provided is a central call centre number which perhaps covers the Paddo shop also. The pizzas which were delivered were in no...way an Arthurs pizza certainly nothing resembling one purchased over the counter. They were like a cracker with uncooked ingredients with no tomato based sauce nor any sign of cheese as you would expect. Beware as I reckon Arthurs is directing your home delivery pizzas to inferior 3rd party suppliers.More
The pizza was bland with a crust like a Sao. Service was good, it wasn’t busy when we went (7.30 Saturday night).
Arthur’s Pizza has been a Paddington institution for over three decades, and it’s not hard to understand why. This was our first visit. There are plenty of vegetarian (for me) and vegan options, and even more for animal protein lovers. There was a generous amount...of garlic to enjoy in the pizzas and calzone, too. We all loved the thin and crispy dough base, which had NO hint of soggy base syndrome; it stayed crisp and firm to the very last bite. Do you know how rare that is to achieve? Our waitress even brought over chilli flakes on request and two cans of Coke with two tall glasses of ice and a small bowl of lemon slices. In other words, Arthur’s doesn’t sweat the small stuff. The Greek salad was one of the nicest I’ve eaten in a long time; it was not thrown together with second-rate ingredients – the olives alone should have doubled its price. We ate EVERYTHING we were served, no leftovers. The bill for four people was $120, which is very reasonable, and we got $30 off using my Entertainment Book coupon. We’ll return, even without a coupon. And we managed a parking spot right outside, too.More
First time to order a delivery online - we picked up twice before. We got 4 different order numbers by SMS but no pizza! Ordered online for 6.45 delivery. After 5 long long wait phone calls the COLD BURNT pizzas with the COLD garlic bread...finally turned up wet an hour & a half later at 8.15. The first call 10 minutes after the supposed delivery time (that had a wait time of over 5 minutes) we got told they didn't have our name like it was our fault, but they had managed to charge our visa, next call they told us they would be 7 minutes, that was a lie because that didn't happen, another call & we got told they were coming soon but they had no contact with the driver & didn't know when and would have to talk to a manager (is there a manager of this shabby outfit ?????), then another call when they again said the driver was coming soon! Meanwhile the kids are screaming hungry so we make pasta. Is this how they operate? Is this their delivery MO? They said it was 'a crazy Sunday'. They said if we wanted a refund as we suggested we would not get the pizza at all after over an hour wait!!!! WTF they could have been on the road for an hour! When the pizzas did arrive the poor guy didn't speak english so didn't know what was happening. I guess it wasn't his fault they were cold, still gave him a $5 tip. He came back 5 minutes later with a bottle of soft drink but it was all too much by then. Arthurs offered no real apology 'cause its a hopelessly managed CLUSTER F__K.. Never again, everyone avoid, avoid, avoid. We will dispute the charge on the cc but thats all we can do. Shame on them for spoiling a Sydney night with visitors from interstate. Never again, don't goes near themMore
Very reasonable priced & the veal schnitzel special with salad & chips was tasty & very generous serving.
Delicious supreme pizza special before 7 pm $12.00 pizza take away a medium for small pizza price. Arthur’s has been there for as long as I can remember and for good reason. Good value and great food AND tge pastry is thin.
The potato pizza must have only had the blue cheese wafted over the top and we couldn’t find any caramelised onion for love nor money. Tasteless. The lamb and sweet potato pizza was genuinely delicious. I personally love the thin base but others in our...group were horrified. The external debate on the the perfect pizza base continues. Don’t come here if you are a thick base person. The food was served hot and promptly. Our dairy free child had a variety of options to choose from which was refreshing. I think this was overpriced and there are better options in Sydney.More
