This is a wooden "shack" in West Bay Harbour but in the summer it serves the best food in all of Bridport. A "must visit" in good weather.
Stayed in west Bay for three nights and having read the reviews of this place were really looking forward to sampling the food. We arrived too late on Monday as they were just clearing up. So we tried again the next day. I had the fish stew and my wife the tiger prawns, mussels and scallops. They were superb, some... More
We were staying in the flats above rachaels. We went for lunch on our first day myself and mum had the haddock chowder and dad had the crab sandwich all I can say is fabulous.
We loved this little beach-hut style cafe where you eat a fish but very affordable fish and chips. or, better still, the other interesting items on the well-priced menu. My husband had the smoked chowder with crusty brown bread which was wonderful, our son had a great bowl of moules and our daughter enjoyed the nachos with chilli. I ate... More
We discovered Rachel's 2 years ago whilst holidaying in Lyme Regis and have been back many times since - the most recent being this weekend whereby we took a 2 night family break to West Bay with the main priority being a visit to Rachel's!! Thankfully we just made it as Rachel informed us she is closing today (Sunday 2nd... More
What a Gem, 5 star food for 2 star prices, we spent a week on holiday in west Bay and eat here on day 3, Day 4 and Day 6, the food is really that good, I had the Tampura Prawns on all occasions, Liz had the Smoked Haddock Chowder, Mussels and the Crab and Prawn Lemon Spaghetti. Ca't wait... More
A cool autumn day on the quay at West Bay and in a sheltered spot you will find Rachael's Fish bar. Seafood cooked as it is mean't to be. Very reasonably priced. Fish and Chips more than adequate amount and expertly done. Chips are crispy outside, light and fluffy inside. Smoked Haddock Chowder excellent. Only drawback is open air and... More
Best fish and chips not an ounce of grease... Fish had a lovely taste and batter light and crispy. Rate it on a level with that famous takeaway in Padstow in Cornwall. Not a family that loves seafood but the fish stew and platters on the table of other diners looked DELICOUS! Just wouldn't be able to eat it, for... More
A refreshing experience in West Bay! I'm not surprised Rachel's struggles to keep up with the demand here! We ordered the fish stew and chowder . And both of us walked away totally chuffed we had decided to stop here for lunch. Value for money and a nice change from burgers and bloody chips that seems to dominate the bay!... More
Saw the high ratings on Trip Advisor. Although we have been to West Bay many times we did not know about Rachel's, just thought that they were all burger kiosks. The food (Fish Chowder) was outstanding, good value and large portion. Not the nicest place to sit with so many starlings in your face and messing the tables. However, would... More
