Visited recently and was disappointed by a number of things. The entrance entailed walking through smokers the smell of smoke had drifted into pub, and we were greeted by a pool table and a large group watching sport on TV. The eating area was ok but food and service were just ok too. Really disappointed as I have enjoyed a... More

We came across The Wheatsheaf whist visiting the area, a very pleasent surprise awaited us. The place looked like it had undergone a taseful refurbishment, modern but still in keeping (loved the lights above the bar). We ordered Fish & Chips and Smothered Chicken, both were excellent. Decent helpings very well cooked and presented. The beer was lovely! Highly recommend.

I've recently moved to Ness and this is now my local. The staff are friendly and the food is good. I prefer the Wheatsheaf as a restaurant, as the local drinkers are not that friendly to outsiders.

The recent refurb of the Wheatsheaf is comfortable, warm and friendly.Staff are great, always polite, happy and friendly - even when they are under pressure. Food lovely..Service great! Lovely atmosphere with comfy furniture. Drinks and food are quite pricey with smallish portions. Food quality tastes okay but I would expect more flavour for the amount paid. Good selection of drinks and fairly well priced.

The food and service at The Wheatsheaf was brilliant. Emma the owner played a great host, nothing was too much trouble for her. It was my third meal there in 6 weeks and every time I was most impressed by just how good the food looked and tasted. Totally recommend it to anyone. Give it a try

I had a lovely rib eye steak here with home cooked chips, grilled tomato and mouth watering onoion rings in their own batter (delishious!) Also my husband had a rump steak which he said was very tasty. Prices very reasonable. We would eat here again.
