had a lovely couple of evenings in this bar ,the 2nd evening was especially good as there was a great music session . the staff were great , cant fault the place .
Just back from two week's in West Cork, my wife and I ate at this restaurant almost every night and could find no fault with any of the meals served us, all the staff and locals we spoke too were very friendly and informative, but do watch out for Jackeen Joe, looking forward to returning sometime soon.
Really enjoyed MacCarthy's Bar! Stopped in for a pint and a place to write in our journals and plan our next day's itinerary one evening, and we had dinner there the next night because we liked it so much!
This Bar is attached to the Park Bistro, and presumably shares some of the menu. While travelling back from Bikefest in Killarney We stopped for lunch in MacCarthy`s. The doorstep sandwiches are really that doorsteps and not only that but the roast beef was lovely not stringy or gristle. the staff were friendly and efficient, it`s reasonably priced so I would recommend it to anybody.

The food when it eventually arrived was resting on salads that looked jaded and were drowned in pools of dressing. When we commented on this we were met with the response" what's wrong with it?"... Nice pub with good food. We ordered pork and beef and also the soup of the day which was mushroom. We enjoyed the big portion of meat and potatoe. We also found a hungarian beer mat on the wall :)

While a man was taking our order, a waitress called him, he excused and went away without ask what we wanted to drink. We... More
