We dined at Tom Crean's in early May, 2012 and highly recommend it. We had the steamed mussels and spinach & ricotta ravioli. The food was some of the best that we had during our 15-day vacation in Ireland, but it is the atmosphere and restaurant decor that is most memorable. There was a nice peat fire burning in the... Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review on tripadvisor and I'm so glad you enjoyed your dining experience. Thanks so much for the 5* rating and compliments. It's always nice to watch the flicker of the fire and the smell of the peat is quite relaxing when and it creates it's own atmosphere. I spent... More

Thanks’ very much for taking the time to place a review on trip advisor and for giving us a 4*rating and you’re absolutely right we are more expensive than some pubs. Let me explain why. We make every effort to use locally sourced organic ingredients thereby helping the environment, keeping and promoting employment in the area and guaranteeing the customer... More

The story is that the lady who runs this restaurant is a great-great-great grandaughter of Tom Crean, the explorer, and that she is a four star chef. Whether any of that is true or not, we can tell you that she is an excellent chef. We ate a sole dish there that I really can't describe except to say that... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review on Tripadvisor and such a positive one at that :-). Just to clarify facts, my name is Aileen, my Mum was Eileen Crean O'Brien daughter of Tom Crean so I am his granddaughter. As regards the four star chef , that's news to me but I'm so glad... More

Definitely the place to visit in Kenmare if you are a discerning person who enjoys fine dining. The name correctly describes the restaurant as the diner can enjoy a good selection of local seafood accompanied by an entirely adequate though limited wine list. The preparation and presentation of the dishes is at a very high level and the service is... More

Cannot recommend this place strongly enough. We had one of our best meals in Ireland here. The food quality and wine is exceptional, all fairly priced. Owned by the granddaughter of historic Antarctic explorer Tom Creen who makes everyone feel welcome and well cared for. if you only have one meal in Kenmare, have it here! More

The food was wonderful here. The chef, who is the granddaughter of Tom Crean, came out and talked to us during the meal. Great place. More

We returned this week from a two week holiday in England and Ireland. On April 21st we enjoyed a great night in Kenmare. It started with fabulous dinner at Tom Crean's which the owner of the Rockcrest B&B recommended. My husband had the lobster special and I had the salmon. The fish was so fresh! Their brown bread was so... More

While staying in Kenmare last week, my husband, his parents and I went in search of a restaurant. By chance we came across Tom Crean's and were delighted we did as it proved to provide the best meal of our 10 day journey through Ireland. The hospitality was unmatched and the food was both beautifully presented and delicious. The oysters... More

Me and my fiance stayed in Kenmare around the Easter Bank Holiday and ventured into Tom Crean's on the hunt for some oysters and guinness. We were not disappointed by what we found. Fresh Sneem oysters and a wonderful fish chowder and platter that we thoroughly enjoyed. My fiance is from Iceland and knows good fish and was bowled over... More

Fish & Wine the speciality, dishes well cooked, wholesome and splendidly presented - New Years eve fare was also excellent and we were remembered and welcomed back after first visiting for Christmas lunch several years ago. More
