Being right by the Avon & Kennet towpath there is a constant stream of passers by even if you just fancy a cup of coffee. Nothing is too much trouble all sorts of meals served. Recommend Toodle Pip cider!

We visited this pub while on a boating holiday. Very friendly staff and locals who made us and our dog very welcome. Good food, beer and wine, stunning location - we liked it so much we went back the next day. Despite the wind and rain a very cosy place to spend a couple of evenings. Thank you!
I have been to this pub about three times now and love the place and the beer they serve there. We took some friends there recently and had a meal which was top notch. Not easy to get to by car due to the single track road.
A beautiful spot and building, but the beer was badly kept and the food was of awful quality, poorly prepared. I only had a burger and chips but it was low grade frozen burger meat with a stale bun and the frozen chips were undercooked. The prices were still what you'd expect to pay for fresh ingredients though. Maybe if...

This pub is in a stunning location where canal and river meet, it is beautiful to sit outside on a suuny day at one of the many tables by the waters edge. But the whole atmosphere is ruined at times by the poor waitresses who are made to yell out food order numbers at the top of their voices, over...

Stunning location all year round. So many summer days spent down by the river with a pint of Apples & Pears. Later in the year a nice mulled drink and meal in by the open fire - unbeatable!
What a great way to satisfy a walkers thirst. Excellent bar snacks and a super cosy bar. Plenty of atmosphere and plenty of seating indoors and out. Definitely recommend.
The setting is glorious - right by the Avon River and an aquaduct of the Kennet and Avon Canal and the food was, mostly, very well cooked. However it was pouring with rain and as no-one could sit in the beautiful beer garden on the river side, all were crammed in to what was quite a small space inside. Some...

Very good fare atmosphere and service. Quality on par with many good restaurants but with good portion sizes.
Such a beautiful spot by the Avoncliff Aqueduct, and we only wanted a decent pub meal - not cordon bleu. Everything was terrible. The chicken was dry, the chips undercooked, the pastry on the pie was like dust - all the specials were fish, and all clearly frozen with heavy sauces added. The service was very slow though the place...
