Overpriced average dining experience, Italy has so much better to offer for so much less. The cheapest bottle bottle of red wine on the wine list is 30 euro for a local wine.

Many wine magazines rate restaurants around the world how they have missed this one I do not know. Our server Michael was excellent, helped choose a great local wine Arturo Rotolo respirvo. Great taste, had a little cherry and smooth finish. Food was outstanding as is the Dolci desserts. Max is hidden down side steps down the Piazza die Mulini...

Lovely little restaurant on the way down to the beach area to which we stumbled across by accident on our 1st night. Food on the whole pretty good, and the service 1st class so well worth a visit.
One of the better meals we had in Italy. The menu is interesting and had a wide selection of items that are just a little different than what you would expect. The service was very good, attentive without being overbearing or "snooty". We would definately go back if we were in the area.
We loved this restaurant. A bit pricey but worth it for a special evening in Positano. The Seafood Soup was spectacular, as were the appetizers and desserts. The staff was excellent.
Just fab food, wine, surroundings, everything. Well worth the extra few euro. The waiters very polished. Excellent produce.
The ambiance of Restaurant Max is what truly differentiates it – with art adorning all the walls, book cases, beautiful rugs, a nice terrace and more – making it feel like you're sitting in a cozy study of a local with great test for culture, rather than a tourist mecca. Staff is friendly and the service very attentive. Menu is...

We went to ristorante Max for dinner last night. The outside courtyard is very tranquil and has a lovely ambience. The waiting staff are very professional and helpful. The wine list is extraordinarily extensive from a varied selection of wines by the glass to vertical vintages of notable super Tuscan. We did however have order envy! The pasta dishes looked...

Arrived in Positano for lunch and liked looks of setting, menu of Ristorante Max and were not disappointed. We were only customers at lunch -but maybe they learned lesson from earlier critique. Service was attentive. Although no view, the terrace is quiet, private and nicely planted. The dining room is divided in two with larger tables in a gallery like...

The atmosphere and ambience of this restaurant was great. The tables are a little snug so we felt as if we were dining with the couple next to us (perhaps 6 inches between us!). The menu selections were fantastic and I think if the waiters were not so stretched, we could have had our menu questions answered much better. As...
