We chose this restaurant because we heard they had horse on the menu but we were pleasantly surprised by the entire meal. We started with a mixed plate of proscuitto including horse, turkey and beef and a second plate of San Daniele ham, melon, bruschetta, and fresh mozzarella. Right in the heart of the old Town of Pordenone, one of the Friuli's capitals, there is this very unprententious restaurant which serves the San Daniele ham, produced in their own Ham Factory in San Daniele. Staff is very corteous, the onwner, with his wife, is very friendly. English spoken and unbeatable prices. A portion of this heavenly ham comes...

This "prosciutteria", restaurant and wine bar looks like a small ordinary cafe on the outside but it packs a whollop when it comes to food and drink. The food is typical of the Friuli-Giulia....prosciutto San Daniele, fresh salmon and deer prosciutto and then there is the frico...the potato and cheese omelet typical of the Friuli, exceptional pastas and a wonderful...
