I recently visited penny's tea shop and was impressed with the outstanding service! I went with my mother and we both ordered jacket potatoes with cottage cheese from their extensive menu. Unfortunately the waitress informed us that there was only enough cottage cheese for one portion, my mother was happy to change her order to jacket potato with baked beans.... More

I visit Penny's on a regular basis and find their service to be very quick and efficient. Their food is all homemade, and they serve gorgeous soup and the best homemade cakes which are all baked on the premises. The cafe is very clean, and the staff are friendly. If you want to be served good honest food quickly, in... More

I am a regular visitor to Pennys Tea shop and often take my son in for ice cream float and cakes as a treat. The comments about it not being child friendly suprised me as we have always found both the staff and owners to be very friendly and welcoming. I am an old fashioned mum and would not have... More

I live locally and use this cafe regularly, mainly for lunch. The food is good and home cooked with a good range from healthy dinners, pasta, chips, sarnies paninis etc, My husband adores the ham egg and chips (free range eggs and home cooked ham - yum). The cafe is nicely refurnished and the tables are always really clean. One... More

Following a walk, we called in for a light lunch. We had very good toasted cheese and ham sandwiches and a large pot of strong Yorkshire Tea. Very busy, but served quicker than expected. The cakes on show looked home made. More

Absolutely appalling service; waited 10 minutes before even being served. Ordered what was supposed to be organic roast beef with the usual accompaniments. Firstly, it took 40 minutes. When you have children this length of wait is twice as hard. When it eventually arrived it was cold and the edges of the "organic beef" were crispy and curled up. There... More
