We stopped here for a quick bite before going to Carey's Manor Spa. We had toasted sandwiches and lattes and despite the fact that the cafe was very busy we were served very quickly. The toasted sandwiches were one of the nicest i've ever had. They also had a large selection of cakes that looked very tempting. I wouldn't hesitate... More

The décor and ambience is not as cosy as its name suggests. It may be great for afternoon tea but we were not over the moon about our cooked breakfast.

Popped in for a sandwich and a drink on a bank holiday lunchtime. Food was all good and the smoothies we ordered were just what we needed on a hot day. Cakes all looked good too. Nice system for ensuring that the waiting staff know you require service! Would be happy to come again

Visited mid-morning on a bank holiday weekend so restaurant was very busy. Had 2 very nice hot chocolates, 1 slice of bakewell tart and 1 very large slice of apple cake. There was a good selection of cakes and scones which could also be purchased as a takeaway for a much cheaper price. Pleasant break whilst wandering around Brockenhurst.

Good food, service was slightly slow, but why rush in the New Forest! Food was tasty and classic English. I really enjoyed the Ploughman salad. Prices are what you would expect for location.

but that is all, we have been here a number of times in this pretty village, its a dark and gloomy tea shop with no atmosphere at all, just a nasty collection of stuffed toys around the room collecting dust, these are for sale too, why I wonder!! We had scrambled eggs on toast a tea and a coffee. Our... More

Been here once before and wasn't completely satisfied but decided to give it another chance! Entered into a very quiet cafe with no atmosphere.. Ordered a sandwich and a ploughman's, waiter had to ask twice what we wanted which was odd as he wasn't new, came and dumped our cutlery down... Ploughman's came out as a bit of ham and... More

the special was pork chop-it was either very tough or the knives were blunt. didnt have my first choice from the menu. service ok but soulless. food ok but poor value for money, put it another way if half the price would have been ok. even the coffee very average and a small cup. go elsewhere would be my advice

I took my mum here for afternoon tea, purchased via a "Groupon" so a small reduction but still £13.50 a head. The ambience is pleasant and the sandwiches, scones and cakes fresh and tasty. We were given a small pot of tea for two with a tiny jug of just about hot top up water. The first pot provided us... More

My family and I went to The Buttery a few days ago for a light bite and drinks. My husband, daughter and I ordered the soup which was pea and ham and my son had buttered crumpets. Service was quick but when the soup arrived it had a burnt after taste. I can only assme it had been sat in... More
