Ranked #36 of 797 restaurants in Oslo
Dining options: Reservations
Description: Madu Restaurant is located in Norway's first design hotel, Grims Grenka, and the prestigious premises are dark and exciting with original touches of tinted glass, running water and fire. The menu has been named Nordic Raw: Nordic food served raw, almost raw, or at low temperature, to preserve the flavors and nutrients in the ingredients. The concept is a modern version of the Scandinavian kitchen where old and new methods are combined in the preparation of the seasons proper, preferably organic, local produce. Several fish- and shellfish dishes, but also lamb and elk. One can order several smaller dishes or choose a Tasting Menu. Great rooftop terrace with great city views, comfortable seating areas and a bar with large selection of drinks.

Really glad I found this place. I thought raw food was just a vague concept for health freaks. But at Madu I found out that it is a real fine dining experience. Perfect place for curious food lovers like me always eager to try something new. Already looking forward to my next Oslo trip - then I will try the... More

I went here with expectations of the food would be good, but I was actually wrong. It was absolutely amazing, overall impression was very good. Everything from the waiter to the chefs came out and presented the food. I strongly strongly rec Madu. Take five course menu, you will not be disappointed

I got served tenderloin of wild lamb with jerusalem artichoke and beets, and it was just terrific, excellent and exstordinary delicious. I have visited Many famous restaurants in Oslo and across Europe, but I must say that the taste of Madu wild lamb was a memorable and unique taste experience. I would like to recommend Madu to all who have... More

Great Place, I had the seven course dinner together with some friends and that was a great experience. The dishes was served on sticks, in spoons, with smoke and other cool ways, and the taste was great all the way through. Especially the 24 hour baked pork was super tasteful. it seems as if there are some inspired and playful... More

Went there last night for å three course dinner. The service was like Bambi on ice but the waitress ment nice. The wine knowledge was reduced to recommending Jacobs Creek, both the red and the white. They couldnt give us a single glass of white or sparkling wine as an appetizer, and we had to buy an overpriced bottle of... More

This was my fourth time at Madu, and what a dissapointment. The menu has completely changed. The fun, asian fusion kitchen is gone! All the lovely dimsum dishes have disappeared. The crispy duck, the kobe beef.... all gone. And is seems that the sweet service minded Swedes that used to work there, left together with the kitchen. All that is... More

Fusion completed! This restaurant has almost everything a modern fusion restaurant should have. The food is lovely and unique, the place is shiny, prices are acceptable. The only minus is the amount of food you get.....it´s a bit too little. Other than that....perfect!
