We arrived in Stykkishólmur about approx 3-4 hours. We ate at Narfeyrarstofa. First night there I have very good meals. Highly recommended the mussels that come fresh out of the fiord. The location down by the harbour was lovely. The food service and ambiance were all very good. Nice atmosphere and good seafood dinners. Variety to choose from. Lots of... More

Wow, we certainly didn't anticipate how delicious the food would be here! My husband ordered a seafood stew that was so delicious, we fought over who would eat it. Loved the atmosphere. When we were there it was not busy.

Arrived late when the place was packed, but still recieved good and fast service. Great food experience. Try the caramel ice cream!

We ate lunch and dinner here today and loved both meals. My husband started with a mixed appetizer of the rotten shark and actually really liked it! I tried it and it wasn't nearly as bad as you might imagine - if you like stinky cheeses, you might like it. But the cumin-laced schnapps that goes with it is really... More

This place likes to see itself as a cut above the local restaurant competition (and there isn't much, to be frank). The ambiance, nicely designed decor and informative menu/wine-list all boded well. The waiter appeared to be in the early stages of learning his trade (!) and to be fair to him he was considerably better on the second night... More

My boyfriend and I settled on Narfeyrarstofa as our "nice night out" meal while staying on Snaefellsness. I am not a seafood eater, so had been eating a lot of lamb during our 10 day trip, and the postivive reviews I had read referenced the burgers here. Figured this spot would satisfy both or our cravings at this point of... More

We ate here after a long day touring Snæfellsnes. It's a charming little restaurant right across the street from the harbour. We ate fresh mussels, caught that day out of the Breiðafjörður, looking out the window from the upstairs dining room at the vessels in the harbour that had caught them. The fish soup was good but not exceptional, but... More

Was extremely satisfied by the selection and freshness of the simply prepared fish. Portions were substantial.

We're not gourmets bet the food was good. The location down by the harbour was lovely and we took advantage of the sunny day by sitting outside. We were offered blankets to keep warm, which others took advantage of, and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
