Fantastic food, excellent value, great service. If you are in Funchal this is the place to go. We stayed in the Vine a design hotel with a supposedly (but not officially) Michelin Star quality restaurant where we could eat full board. The full board food was so bad we ate out every other night of our 5 night stay and... More

This is without doubt one of the better restaurants in Funchal, the food the service and the price are excellent for what you get. If you want to run the gauntlet in the old town to eat, do so, but one of the better ones there is Mozart, but will be honest have eaten there lots of times and in... More

We have travelled to Madeira for over 10 years, as a now early 60’s couple, and have again decided to document this years (2012) restaurant visits. Dining took place either late afternoon or early evening across a variety of establishments revisiting previously rated restaurants, ones known to us over the years or restaurants rated in the Trip Advisor top 20.... Certainly one of the best places in Funchal. Very good food, very well presented in a charming settings. Waiters were nice and helpful. Last but not least price was rather on the low side. Do not miss it! More

Multi course meal with wine included to not far off michelin star standard. 35 euros buys you an aperitif, appitizer, starter, main course, desert, bread, water and wine (constantly topped up!) The food is all on an a la carte menu so it is genuine. There is also a fish of the day. It was so good there that we... More

Have eaten at this restaurant on many occasions, always very pleased, but my recent experience has made me change my mind.Firstly, we were given a table by the door, which was extremely draughty, and cold throughout the evening. The toilets share a communal hand washing facility with no door, and I was faced throughout the evening by ladies (and gents!) adjusting clothing,... Really good food, we had the €35 menu. We also ate at the Do Forte and the Mozart - its very hard to pick which was best - all had really excellent food and very attentive staff. Would visit again. More

I first ate here last November to celebrate my birthday, and managed to eat 2 puddings that night - the one I chose plus the one that came with the sparkler in it. Irresistable, but with hindsight it wasn't such a good idea as I had to walk up a steep hill to get home afterwards. The food was so... More

We visited this lovely restaurant 3 times and thoroughly enjoyed the food, excellent service and ambience. All the dishes we tried were expertly cooked and well-presented. We particularly enjoyed the steak and the chocolate dessert. The price for a 3-course meal from the a la carte menu was 35 euros including an aperitif. In our view much better than the... More
